Tanggal tiga puluh satu
Bulan lapan lima puluh tujuh
Merdeka! Merdeka!
Tetaplah merdeka!
Ia pasti menjadi sejarah

Tanggal tiga puluh satu
Bulan lapan lima puluh tujuh
Hari yang mulia
Hari bahagia
Sambut dengan jiwa yang merdeka!

Mari kita seluruh warga negara
Ramai-ramai menyambut hari merdeka
Merdeka!
Tiga satu bulan lapan lima puluh tujuh
Hari mulia, negaraku merdeka!

Remembering those days...

Segelintir pula akan memasang TV (tekan sini and tekan sana.. ). Alamak... semua rancangan TV tempatan menayangkan rancangan yang sama - iaitu Perarakan Hari Kebangsaan ataupun National Day Parade.

Selamat Hari Kebangsaan ke-49

6 Random Facts

Tiba-tiba dua orang tagged me for the same meme today.. Zeroimpact (aka Boiboi) followed by Plinkie.. to write 6 random facts about myself (6 only meh??? Want to write more boleh tak?) & then pass this on to 6 helpless victims.. Luckily this is a simple tag.. Bukan suruh saya tulis esei atau pantun :P

Mmmm.. where to start?

1. I don't drink coffee (or put it this way.. I seldom drink coffee). I prefer drinking milk and tea than drinking coffee :P
2. I enjoy travelling. My next destination will be.. Sabah?
3. I can listen to the same song over & over again.. or playing the same cassette in my car daily for months - I'm still using cassette player, no CD player.. duh :(
4. I can get pretty impatient when I am on the road. I'm not talking about wreckless driving here.. I hate slugging behind those unker or auntie driver (or whoever ) who drive like tortoise on the road or those moron who doesn’t have any sense of direction. I don't swear or curse when I am behind these drivers but I will just grumble inside my heart :P And ... I miss my motorbike
5. I'm a flexible person.
6. I am who I am. I won't try to be what others expect me to be. And do not expect me to live up to your expectations :P

Err... Need to tag 6 helpless victims.. Simply choose 6 loh, see who are the unlucky ones.. hahahha.. I syiok-syiok tag.. The victims wanna or don't wanna do also never mind (hahahha, cos I'm flexible :P)
1. Winn - U can ask Lucas to do for u if u are busy.. I liu u :)
2. Cynthia - I sayang u mah ;)
3. May - I sayang u too
4. Carcar - I sayang u "three"
5. Ben - will u include io ka chng or yao piku as one of your random facts?
6. Simple American - Wanna know more about u :)

Fear of Needle?

Are you afraid of needle? I hope not. It's just a small "prick" and it won't really hurt. I just had my blood test and fasting lipid profile or cholesterol level (TC, Tg, LDL, HDL level) checked (after endless servings of sotong aka squids over the last couple of weeks besides crabs/prawns and other high cholesterol stuffs). Mmm.. My cholesterol level is still very well kept within normal limit despite all those high cholesterol stuff I took few weeks ago :) Have you checked your cholesterol level lately? If not, it's time to do so. Remember.. needle prick doesn't hurt. I'm not afraid of needle and I hope the same goes to you too :)

There are quite a number of people out there who are afraid or phobia of needles. Frankly speaking, I'm amused each time I see those well built macho and muscular guys closing their eyes or looking away or covering their faces with the other hand when being pricked with needle for blood taking purpose. The more extreme one, will shout like a kid. If they are little kids, then it is understandable. But these are adults !!

Aiyoh... blood taking is nothing major. Although some unlucky one might need to be pricked few times during the blood taking process cos of small, non visible or non palpable veins or blood vessels (Hahahaa, blood taking needs skill too), but the pain is so transient and only last for a brief duration. What to scare of? I know I know... different people have different pain threshold :P

Happy Birthday, Pink Cotton

On this special day (28 August) more than two decades ago, a cute, adorable, sweet and lovely little baby piglet girl was born in a far faraway land..... This baby girl is somehow different from all the other babies cos she likes pink-coloured stuff, including pink-coloured cotton. Proven she is unique and different from the others. And she claims she never drew on the wall when she was small time.. So good girl geh? (Do u believe that? :P)

Here, I would like to take this opportunity to wish Pink Cotton ~ Many (x100) Happy Returns and A Smooth Year Ahead, and not forgetting the all the Hugs & Kisses :P

Happy Birthday Pink Cotton
Selamat Hari Jadi Kapas Merah Jambu
(which reminds me of... 粉红色的棉花糖 or pink cotton candy/candy floss)

Skull, anyone?

Anyone here interested to display skulls in your house? You don't have to be a headhunter for that purpose.. For those who are interested, you can get one (or more) from Sarakraf Pavilion, Kuching, Sarawak :)

These skulls are available for sales ..

And last but not least... watch out for this "unlicensed" part time voodoo lengchai witch loctor (just kidding lah, Ah Ben.. Don't kecik hati) :P

Puisi Merdeka

Semalam saya keluar pergi makan,
Lepas makan tak pergi jalan-jalan,
Balik rumah terus dapat kejutan,
Ini Angel bagi tag tanpa amaran.

Beberapa hari lagi kita sambut kemerdekaan,
Dah 49 tahun Malaysia capai kebebasan,
Sudahkah anda kibarkan jalur kegemilangan,
Kalau belum cepat-cepat kibarkan.

Kebanyakan rakyat Malaysia setiap pagi,
Makan nasi lemak sebagai sarapan pagi,
Kalau tak roti canai pun jadi,
Bagaimanalah kolesterol tak meningkat tinggi.

Segelintir orang pula makan roti,
Makan bersama telur rebus dua biji,
Dan tak lupa kaw kaw punya kopi,
Itulah sarapan rakyat Malaysia sejati.

Susah sungguh nak tulis pantun ini,
Tak ingat sudah garu kepala berapa kali,
Garu sampai rambut pun berdiri,
Saya rasa di sinilah saya berhenti.

Sebelum saya terlupa pula,
Hari ini Hari Jadi kakak saya,
Semoga dia gembira sentiasa,
Maaflah saya tak dapat temankan bersama.

Tapi sebelum saya mengundur diri,

38888

Redsponge told me she wanted to participate in this "28888 contest" in the past but couldn't manage to do so. So I decided to put this up again (for the 38888th visitor) for her sake just for fun... Should I announce the pressie for the 38888th visitor here ? The prize is fabulous !!! ---> None other than a kiss from our Pink Lady, Pink Cotton.. (I get "permission" from Pink Cotton liao (paksa-rela permission, not sukarela LOL) .. However she hopes she can become the 38888th visitor, so that she doesn't have to kiss anyone can kiss herself :P

The counter is located at the bottom of the page for those who want to participate. By the way, 38888 = 生发发发发 or 生發發發發 and definitely not 三八八八八 :P

p/s: Pink Cotton, please don't piak me again with mineral water bottle, okie ?

*Updated*
Pink Cotton was pretty sad excited yesterday night, thinking she can save her kiss, but who knows.... This morning Sengkor gives us a "surprise".. Presenting Sengkor, the 38888th visitor with his screenshot below.

Sengkor, you can claim your "prize" from Pink Cotton. Hope you enjoy the prize :D

Kiasu Drink

This is the weird, kiasu drink - 5 Layer Teh C Peng. I used to have Teh C when I had my meal in Kuching. I came across the 3 layer Teh C Peng last year. (brown sugar/palm sugar + evaporated milk + tea). And now they came up with something new, which sounds more canggih - 5 Layer Teh C Peng which comprises Brown/Palm sugar, Wheat grass syrup, Evaporated Milk, Cincau and Tea. Errr... Weird taste. I definitely won't order this drink again in the future. This will be the First as well as the Last time :) I still prefer the normal Teh C (tea with evaporated milk & sugar). Simple is good, and Simple is still the Best ...

Luckily the mouth watering popiah saved my day. I love the popiah (from one of the food stalls in the Lao Han Jia Food Court (老行家) or Expert Foodcourt in Jalan Song, Kuching). This popiah tasted much (x5) better than the ones I had in Penang. Love the crunchy little chucks of peanut inside the popiah. Love the taste. Finger Chopstick licking good.. Tasted superb when dipped with the accompanied sweet sauce. RM 1.70 per popiah but definitely worth the money.

Pssst.. Pink Cotton, I won't piak you with this yummy, mouth watering popiah :P Cos it is wasteful to do so. I will piak u with other cheaper not so delicious popiahs. LOL

The Bamboo Bridge (Kampung Benuk)

Another highlight of the Bidayuh village in Kampung Benuk is the Bamboo Bridge. Reminds me of the Canopy Walk. This is more challenging and more interesting than the Canopy Walk ;)

The initial part of the Bamboo Bridge. Still looks pretty okie ...

Underneath the bamboo bridge is the river..

Half way crossing the bridge, I noticed one white dog crossing the river below the bridge.. So, I pointed my camera at the doggy. Upon seeing this, the dog stopped and looked at me instead. (I guess the doggy was thinking.. "Apalah ni, tak pernah tengok anjing melintas sungai keh?")

This is the challenging part, located halfway of the bridge.. The narrow bamboo bridge..
*Hold Deep Breath.. Don't panic.. Stay Calm... * And most importantly, secure the camera :P If the camera drop down inside the river, then really jialat loh...

Anyone interested to take the challenge?
Winn Winn, did you run across this bamboo bridge in the past?
Carcar, are you interested?
It was fun though..

Kampung Benuk (Bidayuh Village)

Kampung Benuk is a Bidayuh Village located in Penrissen area, Kuching; approximately 15 minutes drive from Semenggoh Wildlife Centre. We dropped by Semenggoh Wildlife Centre earlier on to check out the Orang Utan but since the feeding time was at 3 pm, so we proceed to the nearby Kampung Bidayuh instead. There is another Kampung Bidayuh located further away - the Anna Rais Bidayuh Village.

The friendly dog welcomed us to the Bidayuh Longhouse in Kampung Benuk.

The Bidayuh (Land Dayaks) Longhouse - One of the well-preserved traditional bamboo longhouse.

The narrow staircase. Mmmm.. I guess... this is not suitable for visitors wearing high heels ;)

The Bidayuh use bamboo as building material for their homes.

The raw latex

Rubber sheets being dried to perfection under the hot sun.

More rubber sheets..

Sarawak Pepper

One of the groceries store inside the village located next to the Paka Mini Museum. We stopped here for a drink. We were pretty dehydrated cos of the hot weather (walking under the hot sun at 12 noon) :P

Last but not least, the cemeteries in Kampung Benuk.. This is not the end of the tour in Kampung Benuk yet. :)

Let Sleeping Dog Lie?

Today I felt tired, and so was my dog.. (but I think he felt sleepy more than tired..)

Ah Boy slept soundly on the chair.. zzzZzzzZZzzz.... I kaypo, so I took photo of him sleeping... Mana tau I disturbed him pulak.. So he opened his big round eyes to see siapa kacau him..

Doggy telling me this with his body language "Apalah you kakacaucau(= disturbing), let me sleep in peace lah.. You have nothing better to do meh?" LOL Really paiseh.. cos kena scolding by dog pulak :P

Tea Kiosk

Ah Ben and I had ais kacang and fruit rojak in this old Tea Kiosk (with extension) nearby the Sarawak Museum Old Wing in Kuching, Sarawak.

The Miniature ABC or ais kacang. Wanna know why Ah Ben's cough take so long to cure? Cos the notti boy still ate ais kacang and drink iced cold drinks despite coughing :P

Fruit Rojak. Nothing fantastic and the taste was plain. No kick ;) The one we had in another place one week earlier on tasted much better :)

Meet the Taukeh :)

Something special and unique about this tea kiosk.. You get the chance to enjoy the "scenic" view when you makan here, which is not available elsewhere ..... Guess what issit about?

None other than viewing the Graveyards when you enjoying your meal (which is located opposite the Tea Kiosk). You won't get the chance to do this very frequent, do you? ;)

Pitcher Plant... Rice

I chatted with Agus, my Bidayuh friend this evening and we talked about dog, cat, Sarawak, Bidayuh house, kayaking & durian, pitcher and not forgetting pitcher plant rice....

I told Agus that I passed by Padawan (not far away from Kuching city) and stopped by Pitcher Plant & Wild Orchid Garden, but too bad the place was closed that day. (Take note the place is closed every Monday). Anyway, I came down from the car and had a peep inside the garden.

This was the photo of one of the Pitcher Plants inside the garden (I took the photo from outside the gate). Haha, I didn't want to go back empty-handed. Die-die also must take one photo of the pitcher plants !!!! LOL Agus asked whether I will post the pitcher plant photo and here it is... :)

Pitcher Plant Rice (Photo courtesy of Fish Fish )

I read about Pitcher Plant Rice twice in the past from my friends' posts. (The first time was from Fish Fish's blog and the second time from Kristopher's blog). Kristopher said he was like sua ku to his in-laws cos he never eat pitcher plant rice. Mmmm.. I guess I'm equally as sua ku as him cos I never tasted the pitcher plant rice before too, hahhaha... I read from Fish Fish's post that Pitcher Plant Rice is available in Serikin Market in Bau, Sarawak. Anyone interested?

Semenggoh Wildlife Centre, Sarawak

We arrived at Semenggoh Wildlife Centre (located 20 km south of Kuching) around 12:15 pm (to see Orang Utan, what else?) but found out we won't be able to see Orang Utan at that moment. Tourists can only see the Orang Utans during feeding time - 9 am in the morning and 3 pm in the evening. So we proceed to Kampung Bidayuh located nearby instead.

We came back again before 3 pm. This was the first time I visited the Semenggoh Wildlife Centre - the sanctuary for a number indigenous endangered wildlife of Sarawak, especially Orang Utan and Hornbills. We still have some time to walk around the area since it was only 2:45 pm.

The crocodiles. And frankly speaking, they look like dummies and their eyes look like guli. The crocodiles very hor liau, cos can stay still like muppet. Pura-pura bodoh waiting for unsuspected victim? :P

This crocodile even more keng chau.. Open mouth big big buat apa ? I looked at it for several minutes and it maintained the same posture. Dunno he stayed that way for how long liao. Really siao siao..

Tristania Whiteana Myrtaceae or Selunsur Putih. Tree with white barks.

Time to see the Orang Utan. This is the few hundred metres nature jungle trail I took to see the Orang Utan. The photo below shows the nature trails with plankwalk.

There are several Orang Utans with "identities" in the Centre - they have names. The Orang Utans here are rehabilitated before they were sent back to the rainforest, which is their natural habitat. The Orang Utans and the other wildlife will roam around freely inside the rainforest, but will return back to the wildlife centre during feeding times. They are clever, aren't they? ;)

We managed to meet up with 2 Orang Utans that day. Daniel & another orang utan (can't remember his name).

This is Daniel. He was busy having fruits feast on the feeding platform.

The other younger Orang Utan (? name) grabbed one papaya and few bananas. Take note the bananas he carried in his mouth and the papaya on his right hand. He scared to have meal together with Daniel???

p/s: I prefer watching the Orang Utan having their meals in Taiping Zoo :)

Sarawak Hawker Food

All these food "accompanied" me as I grew up (Kompia/光餅, Kampua/干盘面, Pien Neek/扁肉, Ding Bian Hu/鼎邊糊 and Sarawak Laksa except Kolo Mee). Although they are not the best, but I still love them.. Very nostalgic ;) I will not miss the opportunity to savour them each time I balik kampung...

Kompia (光餅) - the salty kompia & the sweet kompia.

扁 肉 (Pien Neek) - similar to 云吞(wantan)

(Dry Pien Neek).
The one I had in Sarikei in the past was darker in colour cos of the soy sauce.

Kam Pua Noodle (干盘面) - one of my favourites.

Kolo Mee

I had posted the pictures below in my previous post few days/weeks ago but in order to complete the list of the more common Sarawak Hawker Food I had, so I included them inside here once again :)

Sarawak Laksa

MegaSales ??

I had this thought in my mind to buy certain stuffs earlier on in the morning prior to going to church. But who knows after the church service, I only remembered wanting to buy something from the bookstore but can't recall what issit about.. Hahhaha... cham, failing memories.. But normally I won't force myself to recall , cos most of the time this won't work. Just let it be, and the idea will pop up automatically by itself later on.. If I force myself to recall what is it about, most of the time I won't be able to recall and at the end I will get frustrated. And my hypothesis was proven to be correct, in less than half an hour time, I remembered what I wanted to buy :)

One interesting thing I noticed was ... Unker Ho's DVDs were on sales too during this megasales shopping carnival. Surprised? 3 DVD-9 for RM 10. (Wow, that's cheap). I didn't buy any cos I came here for other things. Normally I won't deviate to buy things that I didn't plan to buy earlier on. Another interesting thing that I noticed was while having late lunch (around 2 pm) at McD (located next to the DVD outlets), I noticed all the DVD shopkeepers closing their outlets in split of seconds. Wow... I guess they received "news" that officers are coming to raid their places soon :) In less than one minute, all the dvd outlets were closed. Indeed very efficient :D

Another interesting stuff that I noticed when I passed by Popular bookstore was the long queues at the cashier counters. First time I saw such a long queue inside Popular bookstore. No wonder lah.. they were having Closure & Shifting Out Sales.. The books were sold at dirt cheap prices. with discount from 10% to 90%. That's why.. No wonder. Looking at the long queues, mmmm.... I decided not to join in the crowds. Somehow, I dislike going to crowded places. Dunnolah, I felt suffocated in places with huge crowds. Blame it on lack of oxygen :D

I get all the other stuffs that I wanted. Well, most of the stuffs I bought today were not actually on sales. And now..... I'm few hundred bucks poorer :(

Colourful Evening

I was on my way to the escalator (going to my father in law's house for dinner) yesterday when I noticed the colourful sky in the late evening. I stopped for few seconds admiring the scenic view and decided to turn back to my unit - to get my camera which I didn't bring along with me :)

How can I let go the opportunities to take few snapshots of such scenic view? I won't get to see these everyday for sure :)

Lesson of the Day - Always Look Up wherever You Are ;)

Blue sky and white cloud - taken this afternoon, just before I left the house for shopping ($$$ flying .. ) My dog was looking at me with great interest when I took the photo cos I was kneeling on the floor :P

Kueh Chap (粿汁) Lunch

This is what I had for lunch last Saturday.. Kueh Chap (粿汁) together with Ben Siu.

Ben Siu got pretty excited cos of the Foong Jau/Kay Khar/鳳爪 or Phoenix Claws or u can call it as Chicken Feet if u like :P (This is one of his favourites leh... Shhhhh... Ben Siu likes kaki ayam).

The sinful Phoenix Claws staring at u but being chopped into smaller pieces ( Does this picture reminds "someone" of the amputated foot? LOL... Scary or not?) Ben had a different version of kueh chap - together with rice.

Mine.. The original version. ;) Flat rice noodles served in dark coloured herbal soup together with pork (lean meat and fatty fei chu yuk) and innards (intestines, stomach etc), pig skin, tauhu pok and hard boiled egg. Sinful yet delish :P

Lama tak minum ini liao - Aloe Vera Drink. Tasted like Wheat Grass though..

Rainforest Kayaking Adventure (2)

After having a peep at the lonely emu, we continue on with our journey (*side note: Nope, we didn't have roasted emu for lunch :P)

Pushing the vividly coloured kayak back to the river (together with the bright yellow paddle and the bright yellow dry bag & water proof container).. Nice hoh the colour - red, orange, yellow. Very lively.

The journey continued... Paddling nearby the huge piece of weird-shaped rock.

We were now paddling beneath the rocks. I love the reflection of the bright sun ray beneath the rocks.

Another view from beneath the rocks...

Looking up from beneath at the rock above us. The opening on the rocks allowed the sun ray to shine through, giving me the opportunity to have a glimpse at the blue sky and the tree branches located above.

We continued paddling for a while and soon we reached the pit stop located halfway through our journey. We stopped by to have a rest. Azmi took down the durians from the kayak (The durians which we collected from the river bank earlier on) for consumption.

Free stuffs are good stuffs (quoting Cynthia's favourite phrase), hahahha... (Don't you think so? LOL )

First time I had durian in such an environment.. I washed my hands with the stream of cold water from the river and sat on the sand at the riverside - enjoying the durian, listening to the sounds of insects and the chirpings of the birds, and drinking river water bottled mineral water..

My paddle, safety jacket & cap and mineral water..

The bright sun ray was a constant reminder that the hot sun was still shining mercilessly. Oops.. now my skin is tanned.. my forearms, shins and feet. I regretted for not wearing long sleeves that day :P

Chilling my feet. It's time to get wet. Time to soak oneself inside the cool water.

After a good dip in the river, it was time to get moving and continue on with the second half of the journey.

Dimsum Breakfast

I had dimsum (點心) breakfast together with Angel in Puchong in a dunno what name restaurant (cos I forget liao the name) on Monday morning prior to my departure back home to Penang.

Wu Kok(竽角).

Syiok woh eating this Har Kau (蝦餃) (cos ada big prawn hiding inside - playing hide & seek inside the har kau)

Siew Mai (燒賣). I noticed Kuchingites call this as Sio Bi :) Har Kau & Siew Mai are close siblings (are they unidentical twins?? might be). U cannot order one without the other.. or else u will feel something missing ;)

Fish Ball. Frankly speaking, I rather eat fish balls than watching football during World Cup Season :P

Tak nau ini panggil apa.. Don't care lah, Hampalang Sapu :)

Another dunno what name dimsum. Notice the fei ha with the butt jerking outside?

Breakfast for the day, together with a pot of Chinese tea. Didn't order Lormaikai/糯米雞 cos this one manyak filling. If I ate the whole lormaikai, I won't be able to savour the other dimsum liao..

Angel, DYK I didn't eat lunch that day after the dimsum breakie? Cos I didn't feel hungry.. (I guess over makan @ Sunday night which contribute little bit bit kua).

Chill Out & Relax

Met up with Wilson, Kristopher and wifey & their cute little baby as well as Fish Fish last Thursday night.. the same night after my exciting kayaking trip. This is a nice place to chill out & relax (and the name of this place is the combination of chill out & relax. I won't mention the name here since the taukeh neoh specifically mentioned she didn't want publicity of this place as she wants to keep it low profile ;) Guess who we met there? Gette. Wilson and I took the opportunity to "borrow" her famous yellow ducky for few photo shooting session. This is the famous yellow ducky in Kuching which appeared in several Kuchingites blogs. She brings the ducky together with her wherever she goes :)

We were the first batch of customers. The place was still closed when we first arrived (cos the owners were busy having their late dinner). Of course I won't let go the opportunity to snap few photos since the place was still empty. In less than half an hour time, the place was filled up..

This was indeed a nice place to hang out with friends. I will definitely come here again during my next trip back home. I know about this place from Unker few months back. Unker planned to have a meet up over there earlier on but the place was closed that night, so the meet up was cancelled.

Pink Cotton and Red Sponge, interested to have a meet up in this place during my next trip back home? ;) Of course can't leave out Moh Moh lah.. (pssss... Moh Moh = Ah Ben)

My drink for the night.. Dragon Heart (pure thick Red Dragon Fruit juice with no added sugar - definitely value for money).

Crazy Sunday

After staying for one week plus in the Land of Hornbills, it was time for me to bid farewell. I reached KL at 11:15 am on Sunday and Angeliu came to fetch me with her super huge car :P We went straight to KL city for lunch in Hakka Restaurant. Ah May, Albie and Steven were waiting in the restaurant.. wanting to bite the late comers :P

Zeroimpact arrived next followed by Carcar and our beloved Winnliuliu arrived last.

After the nice heavy meal, the fun begins - the sukuness or sua ku or sakai or whatever u called it.. Everyone was busy playing with the cameras and the cam whoring session. There was one lenglui who was even more keng.. She hoh.. climbing up and down the chair to take shots of Angeliu & Zeroimpact !! Weirdo huh? We were amazed.. Our facial expressions at that time was PRICELESS!! Everyone was amazed & opened their mouths big big (okie okie, we didn't open our mouth that big lah..) Not only that, her facial expressions during cam whoring session was really ichiban... Mou tak deng..

Guess who was the noisiest among all that afternoon? And yeah, not forgetting, the fei chu yok was Carcar's favourite... I can still remember how she slurped and swallowed the skin and the fatty layer which melt in the mouth... Ada gaya ada sensasi... Sinful, sinful :P She even sapu the fatty layer of pork from my plate :P

Ah Winn (very good gal) was really having great fun hiding at one corner and playing with my camera, since she didn't bring hers. Luckily she didn't throw my camera up and down.. else I really No Eye See loh.. Since I have two, I let her play along with the toy loh... Syiok hoh snapping here and there :P Hahha, I haven't count how many shots u took leh that afternoon. ( I admit we were all weirdo, hahaha).

After the heavy lunch, it's time for dessert. The menu of the day was ... none other than the interesting slideshow from my PDA. Cocka & Winn were pretty interested with the priceless pictures.

The fun continues. After lunch, we went to this weirdo place called Winter Warmer at The Curve. And we have fun shooting picture again before the Star of the Day arrived.. who else but the cute boy, Lucas (the rabbit who disguise as a dog)

Welcoming Lucas aka Liucas... Suddenly he became the centre of attention. This maltese hoh.. hyperactive and cannot stay still wan (not like my Ah Boy, hahahah), jumping up and down and going left and right :D Really attention seeker, huh? But I like that :P DYK Carcar doesn't like mammals leh.. She prefer reptiles such as iguana, snakes and insects such as kah chuak (which is cockroach loh for those who doesn't know) etc etc... Tsk tsk tsk..

Liucas has lotsa saliva. Licked here and there till my face was full with his saliva. Not only that, he even licked my lips and my tongue :P I really enjoyed myself carrying and playing around with Liucas. (I missed my dog, u know???? I haven't see Ah Boy for almost 2 weeks liao leh..)

Aiyak.. who was that? So cruel? Bully Lucas? and stepping on the poor doggy? Ooooucchhhhh....

I guess Liucas was thirsty after losing so much saliva. Of course lah, licking here and there.. what to expect? LOL. Guess what he did? Curi slurping his beloved mummy's (Winliuliu loh.. who else?) drink.. Good taste lah this dog.. Really knows how to enjoy life. Only choose the good stuff to makan :) U noticed Liucas tongue is very long? And messy hoh when he licked the ice cream? Hidung kena, Rambut kena (or should we called it Bulu?) LOL

And thanks to Angel for the great shoulder massage session. Syiok! Angel is a professional masseur :)

Soon it was time to bid farewell to Cocka (heading back to JB), Winn and Zeroimpact. What was next on the list? Makan again.. (Really makan non stop). We had dinner at Pantai Seafood Restaurant in PJ.

Sambal Belachan kangkung.. seong tong Lala, Salted Egg crabs and not forgetting the crispy yim chiu sotong.. Sotong here and sotong there... Frankly speaking, I ate sotong 6 times liao over the past 2 weeks, hahaha... But who cares? Sapu also. Who can resist good food?

The highlights of the night was the flying nuts. First of all, Carcar and May tried to throw the kacang into Angel's u guess what *ahem*.. Following by flying nuts into Albie's mouth.. Successful or not? I guess they need more practise :P

And not forgetting the sucking, licking and slurping of the crabs shell which was coated with the sinful salted egg yolk.. And the scene can be replayed over and over again since it was recorded on video clips, hahaha..

Soon, we had to bid farewell to the tall lady aka Carcar from Singapore (*Note to self*: not to stand next to her in the future, but can sit next to her or do whatever lah except standing.. :P)

The night was still young.. After dinner, we head on to Mamak Stall in Padang Kota in PJ for another round of drinks.

We had a brief session of sharing ghost stories (real life personal encounter experiences) etc as well as photo shooting again.. taking few interesting shots of Angel with her yau yeng & gaya mia post etc etc.. Playing monopoly on my palm Tx..

And not forgetting these great shots ... You know who is this, don't you? ;)

Leaving Sarawak Soon...

I was talking on the phone with pink cotton an hour ago. She constantly reminded me that I haven't packed my luggage yet although I'll be leaving Sarawak in less than 9 hours time. Well, well... I used to pack my luggage the last minute. So no worries ;)

Time really flies.. In less than 9 hours time I will be leaving the Land of Hornbills and flying to Kuala Lumpur aka Kay Elle. Well, time to pack my bags & ZZzzZzz in a short while.. Mixed feelings now :P

Rainforest Kayaking Adventure (1)

I went kayaking on Thursday morning. This was my first kayaking experience - the rainforest kayaking adventure in Sg Sarawak Kanan. I have read several post regarding kayaking from fh2o aka unker's blog in the past. Unker is an architect by profession, and also an avid and passionate kayaker.

We reached Krokong, Bau after 45 minutes drive from Kuching (it is located somewhere nearby the Wind Caves and Fairy Caves in Bau). The colourful bright orange and yellow tandem kayak was unloaded from the CRV and carried down to the river - Sg Sarawak Kanan.

Our beautiful two seated bright orange and yellow tandem kayak.. I wore and fastened the life jackets and kept my camera and handphone securely inside a water proof container. I was briefed on how to handle the paddle before we started our journey. Very soon, I was paddling in the river ;)

After few minutes in the river, I manage to get the hang of the correct way to paddle the kayak. It was fun paddling along the river, enjoying the calm and serene scene of the rainforest with breath taking scenery. Something that we won't encounter frequently.

We noticed 3 durians on the riverbank along the way. Hahaha, what a lucky day :P We stopped paddling and picked up 2 of the jungle durians (to carry along inside our kayak for consumption later).

I really had a good time admiring the beauty of mother nature, listening to the sounds of insects and wildlife, looking at the greens and listening to the trickling water sound while paddling the vividly coloured kayak.

Fantastic rocks which rocks !!

Mini Cave. We kay poh and paddled inside the mini cave to have a look...

It's a dead-end cave.

I even touched the wall of the cave.. ;)

We stopped by for a brief duration nearby the zoo in Bau (if not mistaken, the construction was still in progress). We climbed up the slope to have a peek at the zoo. Apparently the zoo was still quite empty..

This was the only animal we spotted inside the zoo - Emu. We continued on with our kayaking adventure...

To be continued.....

Pink Banana

Finally I get the chance to meet up with fh2o, who is more commonly known as unker on Wednesday evening :) I shouldn't stand next to unker, cos he is so tall (6 feet) !!!!!!! We had a brief chat in Pizza Hut before heading to his stylo home.

He has a private jetty next to his cosy home. It was low tide yesterday evening, so the water level was low.

Tempted to count how many kayaks unker owns... Kayak.. *ahem* I will be sitting in one of these soon.. very very soon..

Unker's doggy :) Very friendly dog. She kept on wagging her tail & manja with me... I played with her and pat her head several times and she enjoyed it very much.

What are these pink coloured stuff?

Non other than the Pink Bananas or Musa Velutina Pinkie !!! Finally I manage to get a glimpse at these pink coloured bananas (after reading it in unker's blog end of last month).

I guess Pink Cotton will like this.. Pink coloured stuff.. The picture above shows pink banana flowers.

More pink bananas. Too bad these are non edible. Since Red Sponge dedicated a pink rose for Pink Cotton, so I dedicate this pink banana to Pink Cotton as well (since today is her blog's one year old birthday. ;)

The banana trees look exactly like the normal banana trees except the fruit is pink in colour :)

Sharing Planet

Finally I met up with Pink Cotton, the Pink Lady and Red Sponge, the Lady in Red on Tuesday night.. Paiseh, I thought Red Sponge is Pink Cotton earlier on & vice versa :P Ben bin pui kaw & joined in as well..

Nice huh this place? Sharing Planet at a so called faraway place..

Cosy and homely look...

We opted for the "Japanese style" small little room at the far end.. So that we can have a place all to ourselves.. Chit chat, talk, laugh, io ka chng etc etc.. Luckily the roof didn't fall down :P

The cubicle "next door" - with proper chair & dining table... But we prefer the more Jakun style - siting on the floor :P

I syiok playing with the camera and started snapping around...

Our dining table... Syiok also siting on the floor while dining.. But the silly cushion creates inappropriate farting like sound :P

Carbonara - both Pink Cotton & Red Sponge had these....

This is mine - Grilled Chicken. Ben kay poh and followed my order too, hahaa...

Pink Cotton suddenly noticed there was Sotong Ring on the menu. Aiks... Thanks to LB, now everyone associate me with Sotong liao..

We get to enjoy this scenery while chit chatting and making lotsa noise.. Not forgetting the dramatic episode regarding my PDA shared by Pink Cotton in her post.

Before cabut, we left our foot prints behind.. Who has the nicest handwriting? *wink*
