Moon & Mooncake Festival

This year, I was in Penang during Mid Autumn Festival or Mooncake Festival (which falls on Sunday, 15/9/2008), but I didn't really celebrate it.. In fact, most of the time I was outside Penang during Mid Autumn Festival
2001: can't remember where was I..
2002: Kelantan, Malaysia
2003: Germany
2004: Jingzhou, China (taking the Yangtze River Cruise)
2005: Penang , Malaysia
2006: Brunei Darussalam
2007: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (had dinner at Thai Restaurant in MVM together with Angeles)
2008: Penang, Malaysia
When I looked out of the window, I saw the full moon.. Just as I started shooting, the cloud started blocking the view.

Within few minutes, the cloud blocked the view of the full moon.. Such a gloomy Mooncake Festival in Penang island. How's the weather elsewhere?

Sand

The sand on the beaches at times mimic creative pieces of artwork, thanks to the bugs and mother nature :)
Cute leh the biji biji. Resembles mini marbles.. or might be white pepper. LOL

And the little sand balls are being dragged...

Ini siapa punya kerja? Korek lubang besar-besar pulak?

And I love this... The awesome work of mother nature which resembles tiger stripes :P

God's creation is indeed awesome :)

Moon Moon

When I looked out of the window yesterday tonight, I saw a beautiful scene.. Mr Moon is so bright and round... Hence I cannot resist but to bring out my cameras and took few snapshots.. The pictures are not perfect but consider okie lah :)
Taken with my DSLR camera Canon EOS 350D (Sigma 18-200mm lens), using manual mode. (f/16, 1/15 s, ISO 1600)

Taken with my DSLR camera Canon EOS 350D (Sigma 18-200mm lens), using manual mode. (f/25, 1/200 s, ISO 1600)

Taken with my Prosumer camera Canon S5IS (with optical zoom 12x), using manual mode but different settings (f/4, 1/125 s, ISO 800).Both photos were taken without using tripod, but I supported my arms on the windows for stabilization...

And I can vaguely heard someone singing Theresa Teng's 月亮代表我的心 (The Moon Represent My Heart)... Nope, I'm not hallucinating :P

Ombak

The photos below were taken during my ferry ride from Muara (Brunei) to Labuan few months back.

I prefer sitting or standing at the ferry deck during the journey, enjoying the cool breeze and beautiful scenery than sitting inside the comfortable air conditioned passenger seats. That was what I did too during my ferry ride from Penang to Langkawi and vice versa.

Syiok woh seeing the waves...

So relaxing...

The water is crystal clear... Unlike the ferry ride here in Penang.

At least the water here didn't resemble milo susu or teh tarik. Didn't manage to see any Jellyfish though.. :P

And not forgetting, the ride was a bit shakey initally as the sea was rough... All the photos here were taken with my Prosumer Camera, as I didn't bring my DSLR. :)

A New Beginning

Today I gatai itchy-hand and changed my blog template (after using the same blog template for 2 years. I have been using the TicTacBlue as my blog template since January 2006, till February 2008. Prior to that I used the ThisAway Blue template in 2005).

And for the mean time, I will use this picture as my blog header. This is the stitched panoromic shot of the Tanjung Bungah Beach taken in December last year. The photos were taken at the same time and same location of those water sports shots in my earlier post.

How u like the new look? Might be this is just temporary. I might play around with the template layout again. Who knows I might revert back to the old template again. Hehehehe...

Orange Sky

I woke up at 7:20 am this morning. Nope, Ah Boy didn't disturb me nor wake me up this morning. Blame it on my "Biological Clock". Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr........ Luckily when I look out of the window, the orange cloud and the orange sky greets me. At least I won't feel so geram for waking up so early for no apparent reason on a non-working day. :P

The "orange" scene reminds me of lokam. Hahahaha.. I can associate almost everything with food. Why lokam ah? Coz Chinese New Year is around the corner mah :P

Psss.. and summore Angeles talked about the orange-y phone yesterday night. Luckily she didn't talk about the green phone. LOL

Batu Feringghi Beach

What are more enjoyable than walking bare feet at the Batu Feringghi Beach in the late evening while enjoying the cool breeze? (Ignore the sun burn, cos nothing is 100% perfect :P)

Human will leave behind foot prints...

Dogs will leave behind paw prints...

Sea shells will leave behind... sea shells (what else u expect? Don't expect free pearl lah :P)

Rocks will leave behind.. Neh.. those cute white thingy on the surface ..

Yeah, this is what i mean, whatever it is (coz i dunno the ocipala name).

And this is one of the most syiok-able activities. Mmmm.... Countless ocean waves splashes.. (As long as it's not tsunami) . Yeah, I lup Penang ;)

Photo Hunters : Row

photo hunters

Today's topic is Row.

A Row of Clouds?

"Fresh from the oven" snapshot - taken few hours ago. The scenic and unique arrangement of the clouds caught my attention when I looked out from the window today.

Photo Hunters : Shadow

photo hunters

Today's topic is Shadow(s).

What I'm showing here is the reflection (or the "shadow") of the mother nature reflected in the river.

Eye soothing green rainforest.

Mother nature is beautiful.

All the photos were taken during my previous Rainforest Kayaking (Canoeing) Adventure in Sg Sarawak Kanan.

Sarawak : Tg Batu, Bintulu

Reminiscing my previous visit to Tanjung Batu, Bintulu in 2005. Such a contrast in the weather compared with my previous visit. Remembering the windy, rainy day with dark cloud & dim scenery.. And almost get caught in the heavy rain!! And breaking sandals...

Nice weather - excellent for photo shooting :)

o.O at the rocks (batu)... No wonder this place is called Tanjung Batu.

Cool breeze. A perfect retreat. Indeed syiok to 吹吹风 ..

Mmmm.. I saw smoke!! Something is on fire, from afar !!

Someone (Malaysia Liquefied Natural Gas Plant aka MLNG Plant) "playing with fire" !! LOL

Oops... 见鬼/See Ghost? (again?) hahahha

Mmm... I wonder what is this makcik doing.. Picking up something??

Miri...

Miri - The Land of Sea Horse? I have no idea why they use seahorse as mascot. After jalan-jalan & 吹吹风 in Canada Hill, it's time to go back to the hotel. Feel tired & exhausted liao mah after a long journey.

The comfy & spacious bed (how to resist?) of The ParkCity Everly Hotel, Miri. Time to Zzzz (kena scolding from Papercrazy after I told her I wanna go back to the hotel at 5 pm).

Seaview from our hotel room balcony. It started raining cats & dogs "Liucat & AhBoy" within minutes after our arrival at the hotel. Another good & solid reason to Zzzzz :P

I absolutely have no idea what is this... Resembles Oscar Trophy from afar :P

Since it was raining heavily out there, we had our SeaFood Buffet Dinner inside the hotel. Mmmm... Had several servings (more than half a dozen) of Big, Fat & Juicy Raw Oyster with lime & Salsa sauce. (Psss.. Someone was jealous.. ):P

After a good night sleep (Zzzz like a log for more than 10 hours & didn't "see ghost"), it was time to wake up & continue on with our journey. Thank God no more hujan.

Another view from our room balcony

Stunted Tree? :P

Kolo Mee for breakfast before we continued on with our journey.

Seahorse again (what else do you expect to see? :P)
