In Loving Memory of Dr Alison Lim Yee Hoon

One week plus had passed, or to be exact, 10 days had passed since my dear friend Yee Hoon left this cruel world suddenly. Thanks everyone for your words of comfort over the last one week. After grieving, I still have to move on with my life. But as the day goes, I'm reminded of all the things that she had said or done in the past. I still think of her every now and then, when I was at work, when I was driving, when I am back home. There are too many things that I can associate with her or that will remind me of her. Her voice, her smile, her laughter, her facial expression, her gesture are still fresh in my mind. Many times, I try to distract myself but making myself busy or occupy myself with some other stuff. It is just too painful and heartbreaking, beyond description... :(

The photo above was taken 2 years ago during my birthday, inside Coffee Bean in Island Plaza. We spent more than 2 hours yakking and laughing while sharing our stories inside there. Now all these will become my fond memories. Although she is no longer around, but her fond memories will live on forever in me. Life won't be the same again after the passing of both my dear friends, Yee Hoon and also Bee Hooi.

Yee Hoon is an active person and also a gym freak. She can spend hours and hours work up inside the gym (at least 2 to 3 hours a day, or at times) almost daily if time permits, unless if she is extremely busy or if she is on call in the hospital. I even joked with her in the past saying that the gym can become her second home. We had talked about going kayakking together in the past but aiyh...

Both of us used the same route to go to work each morning. Seeing the red Myvi reminds me of her. There are several occasions that we sort of 'bump into" each other on the road, err.. I mean met up on the road while driving. I still remember the occasions when I looked at my rear window, I saw her driving behind me. We will greet each other when we stopped at the traffic light. And not forgetting the green scooter which she used to ride before she bought the red Myvi.

My love for cow soft toys are also inspired by Yee Hoon. I know she loves cows and have quite a collection of cow soft toys and related products. One afternoon many years back, I visited her room and she showed me all her cowie collections. From then on I also started loving cows. I had bought 2 cow soft toys for her in the past. One of the cowie, she kept it inside her car and named it as Samseng Cow as the cow's hair style resembles samseng. The other cow I bought in pairs, and I gave her one and another one I kept myself. She said the cow was polycythaemic and flushed as the mouth was pinkish in colour. All these while I will think of her when I see any cow toys. And now, it's heart breaking looking at the cow toys again.

Yee Hoon loves fruits and she can take just only fruits for meals. Papaya, guava, pineapple etc.. She can bought few ringgits of cut fruits, from one fruit stall that she usually frequently. I always joked with her that she is overdosed with beta carotene as she consumed too much papaya, as her hands become yellowish.

Both of us enjoys going for shoulder and neck massage. She introduced me to the one of the massage and reflexology centre in town, and we went there together for shoulder massage after work. I get to know about Sudoku and learn how to solve the puzzle from her. She was a big fan of Sudoku in the past.

Nowadays, when I go and buy food in the Rawther Corner opposite the hospital, I will think of her (as we used to have cuppa tea and chit chat over there all these while)...
When I go & buy fruits from the chinese uncle, I will think of her...
When I eat at Medan Selera, I will think of her (We used to have lunch over there & she loves eating fishes)...
When I bought food at the Pasar Ramadhan outside the hospital, I will think of her too.. (We went to the pasar ramadhan to buy food previously when she was on call in GICU. I still remember she bought ayam percik and some weird vegetable which she loves but i dunno what's the name)...

Yee Hoon, u told me several times in the past that u remembered how I approached u and introduced myself inside the Operating Theatre (OT 5) when u just joined the department in October 2001, and also reminiscing the good old days, including the Saturday morning at Rawther's corner after the Saturday CME. I remembered that too, my dear friend... It was still fresh in my memories although that was almost 7 years back. Just few weeks back, you mentioned that I had taught you how to insert subclavian central venous lines when you first joined ICU (which I had totally forgotten).

I can continue writing for pages as there are too many things that I can relate to her. But it was just too painful thinking of all that. Now I can only wish her peace and happiness, and hope she won't suffer anymore. May God bless her kind soul and give strength and comfort to her family members and everyone who loves and misses her. Rest in Peace my dear Yee Hoon, until we meet again, someday..... God bless you always. You are truly missed...

Rest In Peace, Dr Lim YH

I will be away from blogsphere for the next few days,
As my heart is aching,
and I'm now in the grieving stage.
Few months ago, a close and dear friend cum colleague of mine, Dr TanBH passed away
And this morning I got another shockening news regarding my another dearie old friend cum colleague who left us suddenly in a tragic way, inside the hospital on call room.
I still find it hard to accept that she is no longer with us...
My heart is even more painful when I saw her car still parked inside the hospital car park when I came back this evening.
Recalling the moments that we shared together over the last 7 years...
Her smile, her laughter, her voice, her face, her expressions, her gestures...
The last time I saw her was just few days back, and we still yakked and laughed over things..
Never expect things to happen this way.
Why is life so cruel, unfair, fragile and unpredictable????
And now, the past will become memories that I treasured.
My dear Yee Hoon,
Rest in Peace and I will miss you deeply...

Chickpea Mouse

Met up with Fibrate yesterday night and after our Longkang Laksa date, we went to New World Park for second round. We came across some creative handmade handicrafts and souvenirs. What caught our attention is the Chickpea Mouse or Kacang Putih Mouse. How not to fall in love with such chu bee stuff? Even the mini egg is cute too, with soy bean as egg and the green bean as egg yolk.

Nice catching up with you Fibrate, and thanks for this wonderful tikus gift :)

The Final Journey

My dear friend, you have finally completed your journey and the final chapter in this world. I was in tears when paying my last respect to you today, and it was so painful. But I'm glad I managed to bid the final farewell and sending you off the final journey in the Crematorium Hall in Mt Erskine this afternoon. I believe you are now in a better place.

I'll still continue to keep your contact number and your above profile picture in my handphone, your email address in my email account and also your contact in my msn messenger, yahoo messenger and google talk instant messenger even though I know I won't see you online again. I'm proud and happy to have you as my dear friend. Rest in Peace Bee Hooi and I will miss you forever. Yeah, I will stay strong and continue to move on, and I believe that is what you wants too.

明星

This is one of the sad song (明星/Star) that I had been listening to today. Although my heart is still aching and in the grieving stage, I would like to thank everyone here for the condolences and hugs. Although my dear friend is no longer with us physically, but her presence will always remains in our hearts. And she still bring hopes to those in need, as she had pledged for organ donations earlier on. She will still continue "living" through others and I hope that those who gets her organs for transplantation later on will be blessed throughout their lives.

明星 (Anita Mui)

We Miss U...

Life is so fragile...
The sky was also weeping,
Explaining the heavy rain yesterday night,
and not forgetting the groomy weather.
And how I hope what I heard this morning was not true...
What I fear of the last few days...
What I hope won't happen had indeed became a cruel reality.
I'm very sad and too shocked for words,
My heart is filled with unspeakable sorrow and anguish,
Every moments that we shared together over the last 9 years...
had started to flash back.
Rest in Peace my dear friend,
and we will truly miss you deeply.

Blog Blop Bloq.. Blurp

Rinnah wanna knows this and that, err.. those ocipala stuff regarding my weblog and weblog related questions. Hence she tagged me with this easy tag ;)

1. What is your blogging name?
Chen Chev

2. When did you start blogging, exact date?
- 25 April 2005 for this blog.
- 24 April 2005 for my first blog which I abandoned after 1-day-old :D

3. What was your first blogpost title?
My first blogpost title is kinda boring. Let's talk about Blog Name instead, it's from Ramblings... to A Journey Called Life... (I changed it somewhere in 2006?)

4. Which post do you feel is the best so far?
Mmmm... Dunno leh as I have posted 862 posts so far and this is the 863th post. I guess the most memorable one is the sampat wordless ... post :P

5. Who promotes / is the source of inspiration for you to blog?
After reading blog for several months, my hands become itchy ... and the rest are now history..

6. When do you usually post entries?
Whenever I feel like doing so, but mostly at night time.. (provided I'm free lah, of course).

7. Where would you prefer to be when you are blogging?
Inside my so called "computer room" (home sweet home)

8. Have you met other bloggers? Who?
Plenty. Let me count-count..
Winn, May, Angel, LB, Carcar, Day Dreamer, Butt, Kenny, Zeroimpact, Nyonya Penang, Sengkor, JL, King's Wife, Cocka, 9393, Ah Tak, Kat, Laundry Amah, Rinnah, Narrowband, Mozilla, EastCoastLife, Wenn, Sin Ling, Ray, BabeKL, Izso, Alicialphh, Will, Wynn, ShookMe, AC, Shackks, Darren, Jellyfish, Cynthia, CooknEngr, Agus, Fish Fish, Sharl612, Black Widow, Yellow Ant, Dayang, Sbanboy, LT, Gasman, NBB, Bernard, Pink Cotton, Red Sponge, Mr Goober, Ben, Papercrazy, Wilson, FH2O, Kristopher, Miracle8, Ah Nel, Slenzie, Dreckker, Liucas.. Err... and not forgetting Ah Boy. Wow, this is a long list. Did I miss out anyone's names? Hopefully not.. And I'm looking forward to meet up with many more of u.. :)

9. How many entries do you make in a month?
Depends. Around 20 or 20+ posts a month? Nowadays I post less compared to those early days.

10. Would you reveal your face or your family in your blog? Why?
No No No. I'm partially anonymous plus paranoid, and cannot see light. I don't want to have stalkers in my workplace. Furthermore, my family members don't like their photos to appear online ;)

11. Would you promote the concept of blogging to your friends? Why?
Some of my friends don't even have emails, and some even hardly check their emails. What say you?

12. Would you feel restless / guilty conscience / incomplete if you didn't blog for a month?
One month? Of course, unless if I'm extremely busy or pre-occupied with something else or if i'm on the road.. err... I mean travelling :)

And what say you? My dearie blogging partners in crimes, namely...
* LB (Italy)
* May (Australia) ~ a yummy yam-yam brekkie

Starbuck-ing

Can u imagine this? Experiencing brief episodes of blackout for 3 or 4 times when we were yum char/chit-chatting inside Star Buck tonight.. Very Ocipala indeed!!! (I had a cuppa coffee ice blended black tea latte together with Moz, after our dinner in the hawker food court in New World Park). Moz showed great interest with my little new toy UMPC ~ the 7-inch Galaxy Black Asus Eee PC 701. Nice meeting u, Moz. Are u going to get one soon? ;)

Mongolian Feast

LB brought rain to Penang, Angel also brought rain to Penang, and now it's my turn to bring rain to KL? Raining kucing and anjing in the evening of my arrival causing flash flood in certain areas. Gosh, the weather was so unpredictable as the weather was still hot and sunny half an hour earlier on. Met up with Angel in the late evening and since we were neither here nor there coz of the time constraint, we decided to go the Inner Mongolia Restaurant in Jalan Pudu early. Since we have ample time, we sampat analysed the menu (written in Chinese) in great details. The pig brain sounds good, as I haven't eat it for ages. LOL.. but if I order that, Angel might piaks me with her Doraemon Bag Miss Whatever Bag. hahahhaha

Soon, King’s wife and her two lovely daughters, Laundry Amah, Rinnah (who seem lost and asking the waitress for the directiontable, and she was almost pointed to another table till Angel yelled RINNAH..) , Nyonya Penang, NarrowBand (versus BroadBand?) arrived and filled up the seats..

This is our "Mandarin Duck"(well, this is what they wrote on the menu), I mean The Ying Yong (鸳鸯) Mongolian Steamboat with Herbal and Spicy Soup base (with a thick layer of spicy chili oil on top). Angel said the spicy soup tasted like the Maggie instant noodle curry flavour woh.. My verdict was.. it's mild not that spicy. I was hoping for something really hot and spicy judging from the red colour :P

Moooo...... The Fei Ngau / 肥牛 (Beef Rolls Slices)

Lazy to take photo and the only photo I took was the specialty 肥牛 Beef Rolls Slices (from Mongolia?). We also had a Tungku feast with all the abalone mushroom, chinese mushroom, golden needle/enoki mushroom bla bla... Laundry Amah cracked laughters with her laundry tales and the 特别服务 (special service) jokes. And not forgetting the highlight of the night ~ sucking the Foochow fishball (which resemble nipple?) scene. Ngek ngek..

Since we were still hungry, the night was still early, We went for second round - Dessert at KTZ @ Fruitti Stall Speciality Restaurant in Imbi. What else if not the signature Mango Loh? And some light snacks with wonderful names which amused us such as Ham Chin Band (instead of Ham Chin Peng/咸煎饼) and Wall Band (锅饼).

Btw, today is the fatt hao Ehon's 21st Cow One. Happy Birthday Yee Hon. Big Boy liao and don't misuse your "key". Kekkeke, and I will eat something nice for brunch on your behalf later on :P

Miss Whatever in Town

Miss Whatever Angel sent me a sms last Sunday "Psstt, u pree to go sampat?". *Snip* She hopped onto the ferry to Penang island, and the journey began.

This is how her NEW nickname Miss Whatever came about (something that i just decided a couple of seconds ago). Thanks to her Miss Whatever Doraemon Bag (according to the fatt hao Ehon, she has anything and everything in there). Since Ehon took a picture of her bag, I die-die also must take one shot :P

What to do in Penang island? What else besides makan-ing? and of coz not forgetting sampat-ing too leh. The sky was dark and I thought it might rain later in the night, hence I chose sheltered eating outlets, but my weather forecasting failed. Mr Rain didn't pay Penang a visit that night. New World Park, Here we go !! Oh Chean, Chee Cheong Fun, Penang Fruit Rojak, Chendol and Ambla Soei Boey. Chow chow chow, Yak yak yak, Eat eat eat, Snap snap snap and Talk talk talk (but we don't gossip, unlike someone.. *ahem*) till the Moos almost come back home. LOL

After makan, it's time to jalan-jalan cari makan again. Of course we jalan-jalan and see-see look-look for a while first before we cari makan again. Wah.. ada fountain inside New World Park, which reminds me of KL. Deja Vu liao. This is quite a happening place. Bakuteh King, 600 cc, Nyonya Cafe, Banana Leaf Restaurant, Sheng Hiang store, NetCity Cybercafe, Old Town Kopitiam, coming Starbucks etc etc..

We continue our whatever-ing session in the Old Town Kopitiam. The night owl, Angel minum kopi and I had non caffeinated drink (if i drink coffee at 9 pm, insomnia will befriend me for sure). Ice cream toast out of stock (bawl) and we settled down with Peanut Butter toast instead. Yak yak yak again.. censored *snip*. Time flies and tick tock tick tock.. almost 10 pm liao, and we had spent almost 3 hours in the airy & spacious New World Park.

Angel, HOW CAN i forget to hug u leh that night? I know why liao, cos I'm driving. LOL.. I must remember to do so when I see u again this coming Sunday. My sampat partner in crime, and the Queen of Rock, Paper & Scissors. &aposHugs&apos (<- U know I know what this means), Kkkkkkkkk.

Hari Ini Dalam Sejarah..

Apa pasal Hari Ini Dalam Sejarah? Coz.. one year ago, on this day 6 August 2006.. Yours truly had the opportunity to meet up with few honourable sampat people for the first time - namely Angel, LB, May, Cocka, Zeroimpact, Carcar and Winn.. and not forgetting Liucas, the wonder dog. To those sampat people out there who wanna know the details of the event, the rerun is available here - The Crazy Sunday.

Reminiscing all the sampat and priceless wonderful moments we had that day, including the camwhoring... especially inside the Hakka Restaurant. Hahhahahha.... *Ahem*... And not forgetting, that night someone enjoyed the company so much till she missed the bus back home to Singapore leh :P

Mischu & Heartchu ...

Longkang Date

*Warning : Sampat & Cheong Hei Post*

The story started with the unfortunate porky foot in a foreign land. Those who still catch no balls can read the details here.

The following day... Meeting Angel & LB. We found a new way of eating Vinegar Pork Knuckles, not with rice but together with Duck Egg Char Koay Teow. Geng leh? The dreadful hot weather was back. So hot can die.. We all minimise talking to prevent dehydration and to avoid from pengsan. After lunch, it's time to tapao Penang Assam Laksa, lormaikai, siew mai and one big curry puff for the injured ECL.

The happy (and hungry) ECL savouring the hot and spicy penang assam laksa inside the 1st class air conditioned room, and summore on the bed. So syiok.. Summore with free room service. We had a free demonstration how she hopped around in the room (Reminds me of the kangaroo. Shhhhhh...)

Following that, it's time for free show. Watching the free demonstration of the hilarious and stylish synchronised Olympic G Hotel Pool swimming. So funny can die. And we almost witnessed a free stripping show in the pool. Tick Tock Tick Tock... It's time for the "Add Salt" shopping trip. Mmmm.. The Giordano Outlet doesn't provide free salt, but they are generous enough to provide the priceless free "Air" with the split giordano polo (good to wear in hot weather mah, so thoughtful, huh?). Hahahahaha...

Visiting StarBucks is a MUST - somehow there was an unexpected magic show, and the supposedly tea was transformed into chocolate drink, courtesy of.. you know who.. Hahhaha. There were 3 antisocial people, sitting together at one table - never talk to each other but busy surfing online with the free WiFi. The story continues... and the highlight was the Small One hah, Not Big One joke. And not forgetting the "Ah Girl who walked to and fro several times in front of Star Bucks (She lost her way kua?).

Following that, it's the Lomantic Gurney Drive dinner.. The Emperor really brought rain to Penang. While we were happily eating Lormaikai, the 2nd class Penang Assam Laksa, savouring Penang Rojak (with the mysterious tungku?), Sweet Apom and slurping Soya Bean drinks, it started raining cats and dogs raining Liucat and Ah Boy. Stormy, stormy night, which doesn't stop someone from camwhoring.. We can still drool at the Lok Lok as Angel and I stood next to the Lok Lok stall for almost half an hour waiting for the rain to stop. Such a wet and sticky night... And the makan trip continued.. Loh Bak and Tofufah. I can heard someone echoing hungwee hungwee from afar in the middle of the night. MORE FOOD !!!!

The following morning is the Dimsum day in town - Lormaikai, Hor Yip Fann, Har Kau, Siew Mai, Char Siew Pao, Fei Chu Yoke or Sio Tu Bak and several dunno wat name weird stuff. Egg Tart and Yam Puff was out of stock woh... Bawl.

With hor yip fann and lormaikai fighting sitting side by side. Who is the ultimate winner?

Since no tungku siew pai kuat, Ah Boy had his fair share of Char Siew Pao & Char Siew Bun in return. And not only that....

He gets a free session of whole body massage leh, tickling and scratching and massaging.. courtesy of Angel and LB. Si Beh Syiok..

The long awaited Longkang Laksa Date finally arrived- a date which was planned since 2006. Long queue awaiting for the yummy treat in Air Itam Market... Luckily we dun have to squat by the longkang to savour the 1st class laksa, which goes well together with the Kepala Kelapa aka Coco-nuke drink.

Curry Mee? Ais Kacang? Nope... Must reserve some space in the single compartment tummy for Penang Road famous Teochew Chendol. How nice if we have 4 compartment tummy, as the MOo MoO? Tapao 2 more packets of mouth watering laksa back to the hotel.. And one big bunch of Penang Rambutan. Too bad have to give a miss to the lao hao sui Balik Pulau Durian.

After we hantam the famous Penang Chendol off Penang Road, the sky 'changed colour' within few minutes - which resembles chameleon. Good Bye to Mr Sun and a reluctant Hello to Mr Rain. Thank God we managed to reach the car on time before it started pouring, else will be soaked in the rain once again. The uplifting her koh smell inside the car and the lift.. And not forgetting the "phantom" durian incidence in the lift.. Really See Ghost. Kkkkkk.. Nope, we didn't tapao liulian back to the hotel :P

Another session of sampat Mono-The-Poly game on Palm Tx. We played the similar game almost a year ago, except this time Maymay was not around. Too bad... The defending champion struck again.*Ahem*, *paiseh*. Abuthen, that was a 101% fair game, guarantee no ti(p)u wan and no see ghost. Scottie Dog token really brings luck, that's why i always choose it as my token for Monopoly - my all time favourite ;)

Awaiting for Bernard from Sg Petani to join us for dinner. Somehow, he got stuck with an emergency surgery - Laparatomy for Mesenteric Artery Embolism. The supposed 7 pm dinner appointment had to be postponed till dunno when.. This time the lapar-atomy really made us lapar kaw-kaw liao. Tick Tock Tick Tock.. Everyone was super hungry liao.. The emperor had no choice but to beg for few rambutans from ECL's hubby. Kkkkkkkkkkkkk....

Called Bernard at 9 pm and found out he had just finished his case, but he was still inside ICU in Sg Petani. He suggested we had our meal first while waiting for his arrival, in an hour's time. It's time to sampat inside Chili's and have gastro resuscitation while waiting for Bernard's arrival. The exhausted Bernard nearly tripped on arrival when we waved at him from inside Chili's. He was too happy kua? or too hungry? or too tired? Luckily he didn't injured his leg, else really no eyes see.

Another session of crapping but we were not the most noisy wan, since there was an ongoing live drama next door... Someone was tempted to take photo of the explosive scene and blogged about it but too bad she was sitting and facing the opposite way. And not forgetting the Tu Kar talk before we finally called it a day.

* No See Ghost
-
but at least get to see the Pork Knuckles...
* No Ice Blended Durian
-
but at least get to smell the durians from afar (so far yet so near)...
* No sinful Gourmet Bak Kwa
-
but at least get to taste the plain soup BKT with sam chan yoke...
* And No Flying Peanuts either...

Wow.. a freaking 1.25 kg !! Nyonya carried 5 gigantic Bak Chang back home to Penang (I saw 5 gigantic chang from her post. Mmmm, the total weight of all the gigantic bak chang should be heavier than her luggage. Kkkk

What shape is this ah? This is the first time I savour such a huge bak chang. *Grin*

So far I have only eaten 1/3 of the chang. To be continued tomorrow :P

Ben Ben strikes..

Ben Ben was in town last week. Luckily he didn't paint the town red. Visit Penang must go makan-makan - especially Duck Egg Char Koay Teow, Penang Assam Laksa & Penang Chendol.

Ah Ben busy taking photo of the ho chiak Duck Egg Char Koay Teow in Sin Hwa Coffee Shop. I noticed itu budak loves "salty" stuff. Kkkkkk... Cos he added in extra soy sauce into the CKT. Besides CKT, we ate Penang Assam Laksa and Lemak Laksa (Siam Laksa) from the same shop but different stalls. I didn't take any food photo cos Ah Ben will post them up in his blog :P

After lunch we went jalan-jalan to Kek Lok Si Temple. The weather so hot, can die. We were so dehydrated and almost pengsan half way while walking uphill. Luckily no heat stroke. Really beh tahan. Felt much better after drinking the iced cold mineral water :P Ah Ben said my face was flushing red like tomato due to the intense heat & sweating.. LOL

Stopped by the famous "longkang assam laksa" in Air Itam Market for a bowl of Penang Assam Laksa. Yeah, both of us share one bowl cos we were still full from the previous makan session. Ah Ben was worried seeing the amount of chili cos he dun take hot & spicy foodstuff. Thanks to the refreshing iced coconut drink, we felt more energetic.

Next was a short trip around town (driving of course, no energy to walk liao) and we stopped by the esplanade for a short moment of Kodak Session before heading to Fort Cornwalis (to meet Sir Francis Light, don't play-play).

Dunno why this Ah Ben felt high-high tei. Instead of his ritual trademark io ka chng, he busy dancing on the street pulak. So artistic. *Faint*. I won't post photos of Fort Cornwalis (Hehehe, visit Ah Ben's coming post for the pict).

Following that, Ah Ben having a good time teasing and kacau-ing the black-black tei talkative bird. And the good thing was.. the bird answered him back. Hahhahaha

Prior to leaving the historical fort, we left our foot prints signature behind.. (Must act like tourists). Ahem.. Ah Ben with his cute little "Boing Boing".

Then we sapu the famous Penang Teochew Chendol (at Lebuh Keng Kwee off Penang Road). Phua Chu Kang & Rosie visited the stall too. Hehehhe.. Dropped by the old Chowrasta Market and the gigantic second hand bookstalls. Chowrasta Market is the place to buy Penang local foodstuff such as tau sar pneah, dodol, nutmegs, preserved fruits, belachan, durian cake etc etc. Ah Ben phobic seeing the number of flies savouring the preserved fruits.

Following that, we wanna try our luck- passing by Liucas' house hoping to see him, but too bad we didn't manage to meet up with him. I guess Liucas drove his Ferrari out somewhere, going kai kai. The final trip of the day was to meet the naughty cute and adorable Ah Boy. Kkkkkk....

祝你一路顺风

This is one of the last few songs my ex-classmates (Upper Six Science, SMK Meradong) sang in karaoke in early 1993 (After we received the offer letters from the local universities, and few days prior to our departure to pursue our tertiary education). And that was the last time I met with few of my ex-classmates - Y. Sing, S. Hui, L. Liang, T. Chieong etc. Gosh, that was 15 years ago...

Listening to the song really bring back memories - of my Upper Six Science classmates in SMK Meradong, Sarawak. I still manage to meet up with most of them once a year or once in two years. Time really flies. Without realising, it's now June 2007 and half the year has gone.

A Place Where Great Minds Converge...

One fine Saturday afternoon, 5 Great Minds namely Pink Cotton, Red Sponge, Goober, Ben & Chen decided to meet up & sot for 3 hours inside The Causeway Bay @ The Crowne Square Plaza, Kuching.

Intensive session of exchanging and sharing ideas... At times, Great Minds dun Think Alike..

Pink Cotton with her ice cream toast (very keng huh? ice cream also pink karer). Apa pasal tu toast manyak tebal?? o.O Gotta open mouth big-big to eat the toast. The eating-toast photo was *censored*..

The so called Thai-styled Fried Rice. Mmm... Tarak hot, tarak spicy, different from the authentic Thai-styled Fried Rice i had in the past. I can cook much better than this. And Pink Cotton's toast looks more delish pulak. Tak aci. Why other's food always tasted better?

Siapa punya jari tu? Btw, I will let Ah Ben habis sapu his lam pek-pek sizzling noodle maggie mee (in peace) before I started pinching him.

And the leftover koay teow.. Apa pasal so oily geh? So unhealthy.. Cabut fast-fast before Red Sponge piaks me with the leftover oily koay teow..

And not forgetting the so called "Group Photo" for the "kenot see light" gang - guess who is who? I presume everyone knows who is the one wearing the pink Kroc. Hahahaha... Too obvious liao :P

Meet the Blogger Tag

One fine day, when yours truly was still busy hibernating in the Land of Hornbills, a heavenly Angel (not Angel the dog, kkkkk) gave me a big angpow with this Faint kaw-kaw Meet the Blogger Tag. Mmmmm.. Let me exercise my brain cells a bit. Trying to recall who are the bloggers that I have met with so far, and some of them have "retired" or "semi-retired" from blogging liao..

Winn, May, Angel, LB, Carcar, Day Dreamer, Liucas, Butt, Kenny, Zeroimpact, Will, Nyonya Penang, Sengkor, Pink Cotton, Red Sponge, Mr Goober, Ben, Papercrazy, JL, King's Wife, Cocka, Kat, 9393, BabeKL, Izso, Alicia, Ah Tak, Cynthia, Wilson, Fh2o, Kristopher, Miracle8, Slenzie, Dreckker, Ah Nel, CooknEngr, Agus, Fish Fish, Sharl612, BlackWidow, Dayang, Sbanboy, LT, Gasman, Nurul, ShookMe, AC, Shackks, Darren, Jellyfish.....

*Count count* 51 names up there. Wah.. I met up with so many bloggers liao ah? Dunno whether I missed out anyone or not. Psss... Ah Boy merajuk & stares at me one kind cos I didn't include in his name up there. Okie, back to serious business --> answering the FKK tag questions.

Q1. Who is the first blogger you meet?
~ So long oledi & I also can't remember liao. At first I thought Will is the first one I met, but I was wrong. I met up with CooknEngr earlier on ;)

Q2. Who is the "most wanted to meet blogger" for you?
~ Most wanted? Walao... Ah Boy loh kkkkkkk... especially when I go outstation lah !!

Q3. Who is the "I can meet, want to meet but somehow never got to meet" blogger?
~ If I can meet & want to meet, then go meet lah. Apa pasal somehow never got to meet pulak? Cannot be so loh soh & por por mah mah wan. Definitely must piak with Sotong liao if lidat !!

Q4. Who are the group of bloggers you most wanted to meet?
~ Wah.. got such thing called group of bloggers wan meh? If so, might be the group of CRAPs bloggers who enjoys crapping & eat crabs at the same time :P

Q5. Do you have any bloggers/blog readers that you wish to meet right now?
~ meet right now? Not right now lah.. Tomorrow can or not? or the day after tomorrow? :P But I would like to meet with u, u and U loh.. Those whom I haven't meet before, I would like to meet up. Those whom I had met up with in the past, of course I would like to meet up with you all again ;)

Kkkk... I told u liao, don't vomit blood or hematemesis after reading the Qs & the As. Since blood is precious, I won't pass this on. Later everyone vomit blood then susah :D

New World Park

Sunday afternoon is another makan-makan session, since Kenny is in town.

Late lunch for the day - Penang Assam Laksa & Duck Egg Char Koay Teow in Greenlane.

And not forgetting the so-so Loh Bak. Btw, this is not Lobak nor Carrot. And most importantly, this was not the end of the makan session yet...... Remember the roadside hawker stalls in Swatow Lane?

These were the roadside hawker stalls in Swatow Lane of yester-months (taken in September 2006). These scene is no longer available, cos it is now replaced with the newly built......

And this place is now called New World Park Hawker Centre. More spacious, more airy, more seats, more privacy, less stuffy, cleaner, more food selection, more parking spaces bla bla bla.. Indeed it's a much better place to TCSS, and the food price still remains the same.

Ais Kachang and Penang Fruit Rojak with Sotong.

The ever famous Chee Cheong Fan stall in Swatow Lane. U can judge the popularity of the stall by the never ending, constant number of customers

Most hawker stalls still keep their old sign board & price list for the food items despite having a new food items & price list board on the wall. Nostalgic kua? Got sentimental value kua? Mmm.. might be easier for the old timers customers to recognise the stalls kua?

Very confusing & misleading signboard. The writing in Chinese means Koay Teow Th'ng (dried) or Koay Teow Soup (dried). Does this mean this is the Koay Teow Soup without soup?

We spotted a hungry doggy. So white and so obedience, just like Liucas ;)

And not forgetting the Sotong Stall.. Err, I mean the Sotong Kangkung Stall.

My dinner for the night -> the mouth watering Sotong Kangkung + Jellyfish.
