AK-47 Rifle

I won't miss out the chance to shoot using the AK- 47 Rifle with real bullets in Cu Chi Tunnel, Vietnam. Well, I don't have such opportunities to do so in Malaysia.

The Real Bullets. 10 bullets for USD 15.00 (US 1.50 per bullet). Still worth the munny Money.

At the Shooting Range inside Cu Chi Tunnel, awaiting for the ang moh chap to fire off his last shot before my turn to fire play with the AK-47 Rifle. The thrill, the excitement, the "bang", the momentum, the impact, the syiokness, the sukuness. Wah... Unable to describe with words :P

I picked up one of the leftover empty bullets from the ground after shooting. Hehehe, I don't care whether i hit the target or not. What matter is the fun of holding the real firearm and shooting with the real bullets.

Anyway, I checked my backpack before leaving the place to ensure that there was no empty bullet that landed inside my backpack accidentally. Jialat loh if found out to carry those bullets inside the airport security checkpoint :P

Orange Sky

I woke up at 7:20 am this morning. Nope, Ah Boy didn't disturb me nor wake me up this morning. Blame it on my "Biological Clock". Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr........ Luckily when I look out of the window, the orange cloud and the orange sky greets me. At least I won't feel so geram for waking up so early for no apparent reason on a non-working day. :P

The "orange" scene reminds me of lokam. Hahahaha.. I can associate almost everything with food. Why lokam ah? Coz Chinese New Year is around the corner mah :P

Psss.. and summore Angeles talked about the orange-y phone yesterday night. Luckily she didn't talk about the green phone. LOL

Photo Hunters : Old-Fashioned

photo hunters

Today's theme is OLD-FASHIONED.

Taken at Reunification Palace/Independence Palace, Saigon, Vietnam

The old-fashioned B&W photo of the old-fashioned rotary dial telephone. Yeah, I still remember using those black rotary dial phones in the 80's. I do miss the aesthetic ringing tone of those old phones. *Ring Ring... Ring Ring*

Fluffy Fluff

Thanks to Dobbs and Fibrate, I was kinda addicted to (Fluff)Friends over the last 2 weeks, (just as how I was once addicted to RPS) ~ busy petting and racing with the other fluff friends besides feeding my dear Moo Moo to increase her speed. Gosh, that was tiring.. no wonder I had sored arms and shoulder, hence I finally took a long break from fluffing Fluff Racing.

My beloved Moo Moo with all the Mini-s and the trophies.

My Moo Moo's latest speed is 11245 fph and she has won the bronze and silver trophy from fluff racing (hard-earned trophies). Seems like it is impossible to win the gold trophy since ECL's Kabpo is ranked top on the list with 95.15% victory with the speed 13746 fph. (Hard to beat that leh). Moo Moo is on daun on leave and resting at the moment. Yeah, Moo Moo deserved a good rest after all the hard work and she didn't race for the last 5 days. If you eat full and nothing better to do are free, don't forget to drop by and pet Moo Moo's head (please don't pull her legs nor her tail, although she doesn't bite).

p/s: The Fluff Addicts Fluff Doctors (Dr Dobbs with her Skippy (Our Fluff Tai Kar Cher), Dr Fibrate with her Pork Chop, Dr Chev with her Moo Moo, Dr Yenjai with his Cosy, Dr Eve with her Messy, Dr Bernard with his Bernie, Dr Jason with his TuTu) are hoping to have their first ever Fluffy-MeetUp, wearing their beloved Fluff-printed T shirts (hahahaha) while discussing medical and work related issues enjoying the Fluff-Talk, Fluff-Happenings and Fluff Photography. Hopefully no one will race against one another during the Fluff-MeetUp. LOL

And not forgetting, Fluff Friends have their own group, blog, forum and store.

Notre Dame Cathedral

Having been colonized by the French, Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam has many french buildings and one of the popular landmarks is the Notre Dame Cathedral.
This Roman Catholic church was constructed in the late 19th century. Yeah, it is definitely not as outstanding as the Notre Dame Cathedral in France which I visited way back in 2003, but it is still a place worth visiting.

A huge statue of the Virgin Mary is located in the centre front of the cathedral. The two bell towers were tipped with the iron crosses. The total height of the cathedral to the top of the Cross is around 60 metres.

The inner chamber of the Notre Dame Cathedral.

Beautiful stained glass windows inside the cathedral

I have no idea what is written on the plates up there. (Duc Me = ??)

Statue of Virgin Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus inside the stable.

The cruxification

The main altar
**Addendum :To answer Cocka's question, there is no Hunch Back of Notre Dame greeting us at the entrance gate. Instead, we saw a handicapped beggar guy with Phocomelia (congenital disorder of the upper limbs with flipper-like appearance of the hands).

Blog Blop Bloq.. Blurp

Rinnah wanna knows this and that, err.. those ocipala stuff regarding my weblog and weblog related questions. Hence she tagged me with this easy tag ;)

Chen Chev

- 24 April 2005 for my first blog which I abandoned after 1-day-old :D

Oz-Msia Food Talk

Something memorable happened tonight. *Ahem* My First Synchronised Cooking and Eating Session together with MayMay in Australia. It all started with some sampat and unrelated ocipala conversation on yahoo messenger that leads to food. Guess what we cook? The simple to prepare and yet delicious dish..

Yeah, it's none other than the Assam Laksa Maggi Mee. Hahhahaha...I malas to add in other ingredients. So it is just plain assam laksa maggi mee without vegetable nor prawns. Still taste good. But I didn't lick the bowl till clean lah (unlike the maggi mee advertisement) :P Wonder how Maymay's maggi mee looks like. I'm pretty sure her's is more delicious.

And the cute and adorable Ah Boy is interested with my bowl of noodle. Nope, I didn't feed him the maggi mee. I sapu all by myself. ;)

Asus Eee PC

Since kyh and Butt wanna have a glimpse at my new toy, and Angeles wanna see the size of my UMPC Asus Eee PC in comparison with my 13.3 inch MacBook, I will comply. Here are the pictures.

My beloved Galaxy Black Asus Eee PC 701. I prefer black-coloured gadget, hence i choose the galaxy black instead of the pearly white colour. (My point-n-shoot camera, prosumer camera and DSLR camera and my pda, Palm Tx are all black in colour) .

So small and light, weighing less than 1 kg, hence portable. Half the size of my MacBook. Yeah, SIZE DOES MATTER !!

And it comes pre-installed with all the necessary software and application (such as Firefox browser, email, word and office documents, power point presentations, photo, movies, instant messaging, skype, sticky notes, dictionary, paint, games etc), with built in webcam, microphone and voice recorder, built in SD/MMC card reader, WiFi and ethernet and 3 USB hub, running on Linux Xandros OS. And, it's affordable, and you can get it at RM 1,299. Although the SSD capacity is only 4 Gb, but that is not a major problem. I can always use a pen drive, external HDD or SDHC card.

Hence, I love my Eee PC ;)

Starbuck-ing

Can u imagine this? Experiencing brief episodes of blackout for 3 or 4 times when we were yum char/chit-chatting inside Star Buck tonight.. Very Ocipala indeed!!! (I had a cuppa coffee ice blended black tea latte together with Moz, after our dinner in the hawker food court in New World Park). Moz showed great interest with my little new toy UMPC ~ the 7-inch Galaxy Black Asus Eee PC 701. Nice meeting u, Moz. Are u going to get one soon? ;)

Tonle Sap, Cambodia

Finally we reached our destination ~ Tonle Sap (the largest fresh water lake in South East Asia). Yeah, this was the muddy and dusty pathway we took. Those thatched huts were located along this pathway.

This was our "Tour Boat"~ bringing us to tour around The Floating Village in Tonle Sap.

The Floating Primary School

The Floating Church

During our boat ride, we saw quite a number of locals on their boats coming along side our boat selling stuffs like canned soft drinks, bananas, souvenirs etc.

The Floating Restaurant and Souvenir shop and Crocodile Farm.

What is that??? Yeah, those who have read my previous entry might know the answer. Yeah, that was a child beggar paddling inside the bucket or pail.

Remember the handicapped child beggar in the previous post? Several of these child beggars were seen in the lake.

Young mother selling banana, with her baby sleeping on her lap. Amazing...

Another pathetic looking baby girl hoping someone will buy the banana so that she can call it a day and go back home earlier. This is one of their daily routines...

The other tour boats which stopped by in this Floating Restaurant.

The mobile grocery store for the locals

Mmmmm... I have no idea what is this...

So many family members resting inside the small floating house. Can you imagine yourself staying in such a place? Nah....

Journey back home...

Some weird looking boat..

Coconut

How nice to have a sip of the thirst quenching coconut drink in Angkor Wat, especially when walking under the hot sun.

Finally my prayer was answered. Not only that, I found a new way to enjoy the coconut drink in Cambodia. A hole was drilled through the coconut husk till the core. Hahahha, is this method also known as sucking straight from the nut coconut? :P

Photo Hunters : Skinny

photo hunters

Today's theme is SKINNY.

Photo of a skinny young boy taken in Tonle Sap, Cambodia. I presume the boy is a victim of landmine explosion as he has lost his left upper limb and vision of his right eye. The devastating effect of war still continue long after the war and the innocent victims are still suffering up to this day. There are several child beggars paddling inside a pail or a container at Tonle Sap Lake asking for money or donation from tourists who visited the place. :(

Rojak?

This is one of the fruit stalls I came across in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Looks like a similar fruit stall in Malaysia, selling Assam/Tamarind (something different, although it's also available in Malaysia), Guava, Mengkuang (turnip/jicama), Papaya, Mango, Pineapple etc. Err, and I noticed something else..

Several slices of fruits and vegetable.. (and it somehow reminds me of our lcoal fruit rojak)

Upon closer inspection, you can actually see thin slices of cut mangoes, carrots, cucumber, mengkuang/turnips, sliced banana (with skin? huh? or is that something else?). Very Ocipala. I wonder how they eat this foodstuff? I am not so adventurous didn't dare to try it out as I didn't want to take the risk. Imagine having food poisoning while on a trip, really jialat loh. No joke :P
