The Cameron Jagung which needs no further intro ~ so sweet and juicy that it can even be eaten raw. I need to re-emphasize it again ~it's SWEET and JUICY!! Satisfaction guaranteed. Something not to be missed out if I visit Cameron Highlands (but I don't think I will visit Cameron Highlands in the near future lah). And that also means.. if u happened to visit Cameron Highlands, don't forget to buy some back for me :P

Photo Hunters : Creative

Today's topic is Creative.

Introducing the cute and adorable Wheat Grass Baby (from Cameron Highlands)..

The Final Product after several days - The Hairy Grass Baby with long, spikey green-coloured "hair".. The person who invented the Wheat Grass Baby is indeed creative.

p/s:The sampat Winn joked with me 2 years back regarding the grass babies. She mentioned that Svenson and Yun Nam Haircare can adopt this grass baby as their spoke person. LOL

Kea Farm (Cameron Highlands)

Pink Cotton asked me yesterday night, regarding why I didn't post any photos from Cameron Highlands. Aiks.. Can I post photos taken from the market called Kea Farm? Wanna join me for a quick tour in Kea Farm in Brinchang, Cameron Highlands?

The colourful Cherry Tomatoes (again?) - You can see cherry tomatoes everywhere in Cameron Highlands :P

Sweet Corn/Jagung. The jagung is indeed very sweet and juicy. Yeah, it's juicy.. Even the raw jagung taste sweet. One of the must buy products !!

Honey Sweet Potatoes

Strawberries again, the gigantic tua pui strawberry. (Strawberries and Cherry Tomatoes are two common products in Cameron Highland). Pusing sini, pusing sana, jalan sini, jalan sana.. nampak aje Cherry Tomato dan Strawberi.

Dried Strawberries

Strawberry dipped in sugary syrup. Look at the size of the strawberries.. Manyak besar :D

Strawberry keychains, strawberry balloon, strawberry cushion, strawberry plush toys and other liuliu products..

Fresh Beetroots. Planned to buy some earlier on (since I have never tasted the fresh beetroots. I had eaten the preserved beetroots several times).. But too bad I lupa after my photography tour :(

The colourful cauliflower and cabbage. White and green-coloured cauliflower. I have seen purple coloured cauliflower too in the past but didn't manage to see it this time. And not forgetting the purple carbage. Good to throw at people, kekeke....

Honey oranges and Cameron Apples. The Cameron apples taste like honey dew :)

More Cameron Highland products.. Cameron Apples, Love Fruit/爱情果 (or is it called Lover's Fruit?) and Cherry Tomatoes.

And not forgetting the flowers stalls...Not my cup of tea :) Is this paradise for flower lovers? Flowers here are cheap.

So colourful (dunno what liuliu dye dia orang guna)... See liao also sakit mata :P

Cherry Tomato

Besides strawberries, another product to look out for in Cameron Highlands is the Cherry Tomatoes (my favourite) ..

I love the cherry tomatoes from Cameron Highlands. The little red coloured, ripe cherry tomatoes (in various sizes and shapes) are sweet and delicious, unlike the one found in the local market in "lowland"(which are sour). That's why I only buy cherry tomatoes in Cameron Highlands and not elsewhere :)

Is this the so called "Grape Tomato"? (refering to the elongated, oblong-shaped cherry tomato).

Dried Cherry Tomatoes. This is the first time I see such product. Never thought there are such things called dried or preserved tomato. Hahhahha.... might be I sua ku loh..

Strawberry Attack

I went to Cameron Highlands last weekend and visited the KHM Strawberry Farm. We bought one box of fresh strawberries, few packets of dried strawberries, two bottles of homemade strawberry jam back home and not forgetting to feast ourselves with the yummy babelicious strawberry milkshake :)

Huge juicy red strawberries... Wanna wanna? I like this shot.

Strawberry flower with budding little strawberry..

The "hairy" strawberry.. Do u notice the little tiny "hair" on the strawberry? I never realised strawberry is "hairy" in the past :P

The yummy babelicious pink coloured thick strawberry milk shake.. errr.. pink colour somehow reminds me of someone ;) Who else? You know who you are, right? (Cham loh.. nowadays, whenever I see pink-coloured stuff, I will think of her liao... liuliu)

Dried strawberries (from KHM Strawberries Farm)

Strawberries with fresh cream... (I had this in Starview Restaurant near Kea Farm).

Bala Chalet (Cameron Highland) & Scones

Lately, everyone is posting on scones.. (Carcar, LB & May etc..) Mmmm.. What is the consequences after reading all these posts? I started "digging out" my "old" photos, taken in Cameron Highland in September 2005 (cos I took several shots of scones over there). And while looking back at the photos, I noticed there are several photos that I have never posted yet. I posted quite a number of photos & posts regarding Cameron Highland in the past, but haven't post anything regarding Bala Chalet yet.

Bala Chalet is located at Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands. It is one of the oldest colonial buildings built during the pre-war era. Formerly this building was a British school. Now the place is fully refurbished into a cozy, old English style guest house with country charm. The building is preserved in its original structure to enhance its natural beauty.

Bala Chalet has now 25 cottage style rooms. When I visited the place last year, part of the place was closed down for renovation.

Cosy looking British India Restaurant - serving both local and western cuisine.

Haha, I didn't stay in Bala Holiday Chalet (so I can't give any feedback on the rooms & facilities). We just came here for our afternoon tea & homemade scones. We stayed in Heritage Hotel during our stays in Cameron Highlands.

Firewood in fireplace. I presume there is chimney as well?

This is the place serving one of the better quality scones in town :) This is what I had there - scones, scones & scones.. My servings of scones (together with whipped cream, strawberry jam & butter) and tea as well (of course).

This picture is taken in T cafe. Since I feel like eating scones now (after looking at all those scones picture), that's why I dig out the scone photos :) This is another nice cosy place to have scones & sipping afternoon tea. I have written a post on T cafe earlier on.

The followings are some of my old posts regarding Cameron Highlands (for those who are interested to know more about Cameron Highlands) -Sg Palas Boh tea plantation, Boh tea plantation, Bharat tea plantation, strawberry farm, mossy forest jungle trekking, herbal steamboat, view tower (Mt Brinchang), Parit Fall, tomatoes, grass babies, persimmon farm .

Parit Fall (Cameron Highlands)

Several months back, I still consider Parit Falls in Cameron Highland as a good site for photo taking. But after my recent visit to Jiuzhaigou, China and after seeing all the magnificent waterfalls there (including the Nuorilang Waterfalls and the Pearl Shoal Waterfalls).. Mmmm...

These photos were taken few months ago during my last visit to Cameron Highlands in September 2005. Wonder if anyone of u noticed anything from the picture above? If u look carefully, u will notice there are bundles of rubbish nearby the mini waterfall. So unsightly.. What a disgrace. Why can't the people throw rubbish at the proper place? What sort of mentality is this? Not that rubbish bins are not available.. There are rubbish bins nearby. Sigh :(

Initially before I reached the place, I wonder why the place is called Parit Fall. I guess the name derived cause the waterfall is just like "parit"?? (Parit = Drain in Malay Language). No wonder the place is fulled with rubbish :P

Luckily there are still areas which is still "clean"."unpolluted" and "free" from rubbish in Parit Fall..

Persimmon Farm

I have never been to Persimmon Farm before, although I saw the persimmon tree once during my previous visit to China. All the while, I thought Persimmon Farm is not available in Malaysia. I was really surprised to find out that there's actually Persimmon Farm in Cameron Highland. I only get to know about it when I saw the sign board on our way to the Boh Tea Plantation in Habu. We visited the farm on our way back from the tea plantation... There's few fierce dog guarding the farm but they are tied up :) They barked fiercely when we entered the farm.

We talked to the owner as well, and learnt something about persimmon(柿子). Apparently, the persimmons can't be eaten straightaway when plucked from the tree. After harvesting the persimmons, the fruits need to be "treated" first with carbon dioxide or CO2 for astringency removal. The processed fruits can only be consumed something like 4 days later on..

Sg Palas Boh Tea Plantation (Cameron Highlands)

Sg Palas Boh Tea Plantation is the third tea plantation we visited, located in Mt Brinchang in Cameron Highlands. The small winding road is fabulous. Another challenging and thrilling drive - through the long, winding, steep and narrow road (the width of a one-car lane). Need to honk at sharp corners as the road is very narrow. There was occassions whereby we had to reverse our car as some of the path could only take one vehicle at a time.

It's nice sniffing the smell of roasting tea leaves when we stepped into the Boh processing factory. A guide was on hand to explain the various processes. There were also signs with general information on the different processes. The factory visit was brief. I won't post any photos on this although I did take few snap shots inside the factory :)

There were overwhelming crowds in the Sg Palas Boh tea house but this didn't prevent us form having a cup of tea and a piece of scone over there. The cafe is overlooking the tea plantation. So we can really enjoy the nice tea plantation view while sipping the hot tea. The scone here is not as delicious as the one we have earlier on in T Cafe.

We visited the tea shop as well. Besides the tea accessories and linen, most teas sold there can be found in the lowlands. Didn't buy any tea products this time...

Tomatoes

Tomato... edible fruit or vegetable?? Whatever it is ... I like to eat them raw as snack or as salad...
These are shots taken from the Cactus Valley in Cameron Highlands.. Red juicy and ripe tomatoes growing on the vines ;)

My favourite is still the cherry tomatoes from Cameron Highland. The little red, ripe cherry tomatoes that are sweet and delicious even when eaten on their own ... :)
