Queen of the Fruits

It's now the beginning of the seasonal tropical fruit season again. Hence, we can see the seasonal tropical fruits such as rambutans, langsat, mangosteen and durian starting to flood the local market.

One of my favourite is the Mangosteen, aka the Queen of Fruits. (The "wife" of durian? Since Durian is known as the King of Fruits. Hahaha). Well, well.. One is "Cooling" whilst the other one is "Heaty". Hence they can become good and loving couple. :)

Even my dog loves it. Ya, my little Min Pin eats almost everything, be it meat, vegetable or fruits. :)

big pumpkin,
Thanks big pumpkin. Ya, mangosteen is cooling but durian is heaty. Hence, it's better to eat mangosteen than durian. :)

Don't like. The only seasonal fruit that I like is dabai. Other times, I only take bananas and papayas. Not so much into the other fruits - local or imported.

I've never fancied fruits that I have to peel with my hands, but you've stirred up a craving!!!

Chen said...

sk,
The sweet and juicy white flesh. I wanna buy mangosteen again this coming weekend. :)

suituapui,
I see. U r the first person whom i know of that are not so much into fruits. I love fruits. I can even substitute meals with just fruits. :)

fibrate,
Kekeke.. Most of the time i don't peel or open the mangosteen with hands, cos i dowan to stain my finger nails. Normally I will cut the skin with knife. :)

Mangosteen juice? No, never tried before but can imagine it will be must nicer than "liu lian" juice. Hahahaha

Chen said...

doreen,
LOL about the liulian juice. I have only tried the soursop or angmoh liulian juice so far.

Next time when u balik kampung time, u can look out for the canned mangosteen fruit juice. :)
