Some of you might have noticed my status last weekend regarding I had frozen watermelon. The idea of eating the frozen watermelon originated from my hubby few weeks back since he ate that at his friend's place and he loved it. Last Saturday, I bought a watermelon from TESCO at a great deal of RM 1 per kilo and I freeze half the fruit overnight inside the freezer.

Wow, marvellous idea...from your pic, the texture looks like sherbert watermelon. Will make some space in the freezer this weekend to store the sai gua.

If u put it overnight in the freezer, the whole fruit will become frozen. If u put it for few hours, then u can still scoop up the flesh :)
Else, u can cut the watermelon into smaller cubes or sliced it into pieces before putting it in the freezer :)

If there is a farm nearby my place, then i won't mind buying the watermelon from there. But the nearest farm is so far away, hence not practical to buy it from there. So like it or not, we still need to buy the fruits from the market or supermarket :)

If u use honey dew, then u need to cut it into smaller cubes before putting inside the freezer cos honey dew is harder then water melon. I presume it will be hard to scoop the flesh from a frozen honey dew :)

If u dun have sufficient space to stor the fruit, u can always cut it into smaller cubes or slices. :)

someone taught me this (yet to try out though):
- stab the half watermelon a few times, korek some lubangs
- pour some vodka into the lubangs
- freeze the watermelon
- eat when nicely frozen... and mabuk at same time
and yes, still vegetarian!

For my next frozen watermelon session, i will cut the watermelon into smaller slices or cubes before freezing it, so that easier to makan :D
