Something different - Cemetery

Today I will post on something different.. something that most people won't do or won't dare to do and I know this topic is a taboo to some :) I know lotsa people will say it's not good to take picture of cemetery or graveyards (in case u might capture "something" inside the photo). Well, this is up to individual, but not me ... No pantang-larang. Just do what you what you want to do as long as it is not against the law and, as long as you show respect to the deceased...

A weird looking tree in the graveyards. Is it possessed?

Skinny moo moo cow inside the cemetery. I think the grass here contain less nutrient?

Another skinny cow. Can see the ribs & bones clearly..

I spotted few goats in the cemetery area as well.. The goats are more meaty.

One old graveyard... The carving on the tombstone was almost non visible. I can't read properly the words craved on the tombstone..

What is that in the picture? A monkey statue or ??

There are houses nearby the cemetery, or houses surrounded by the graveyards. Is that a healthy living environment? It's up to individual. I definitely won't buy a house facing the graveyard.

Hmmmm...... hmmm..... mmmmm..... mmmm.. liuliu... that tree trunk, I see an ape shape there, crouched.

definitely not good feng shui to stay so near to a graveyard :P

eh..imposible the cow so thin le...i thought the grass should contain more nutrients cos ... err....hehhe..the 'people' who 'live' there provide the nutrients to the ground ma...hehehe ..if you get what i mean :)

may,
Yeah I do believe if we don't disturb them, they won't disturb us either.. unless the "notti" one loh.. Just as hospital is a "dirty" place, but so far I don't have any "special encounter" yet.. minor one got lah.. *touch wood* ..

Everyday I drive pass a huge area of cemetery (more than 1 km). Some notti fellow asked what if when u drive along that road in the middle of the night and found someone sitting behind the car when u look at the rear window? (Sometimes I drive along on that road at 2 or 3 am in the morning :P) Hehhe.. :)

ben,
SCP ah ben, call me siao pulak.. Aiyak, u want to see corpse picture issit? There are... in my earlier archive. I have posted on dissection session before ;) LOL

lb,
Hmmmm.... I guess the ape is looking after the graveyard, or looking after the deceased master ??

pink cotton,
Over here, cos of lack of land (u knowlah.. penang is a small island), there are several housing area nearby the graveyards.. In fact, some are located exactly opposite the graveyard, something like less than 6 feet away..

I know what u mean :P The decomposed body provide the nutrients to the ground.. but.. might be, the spirits took away the nutrient form the cows in return? Like Barter system...

In our neighborhood in rural Japan there are family plots all over the place.

I find old cemetaries fascinating places. One can learn a lot about the local history from them.

LOL at Winliuliu!!! Alamak!!

Hey, you know, I heard this story about a faithful dog who returns to his Master's grave every evening.. so touching, so sad, so ...

Chen said...

pandabonium,
Hah? family plots all over the place? I get a shock earlier on, but soon.. I realised I miss out something - that is rural Japan :)

There is a Jewish Cemetery in Georgetown, Penang. I visited the place several years back. The earliest grave there dates to 1835.

SA,
orbs? Yeah, I read about orbs and seen photos about that from few websites. Some time ago, I was looking at the photos my sister in law took in Angkor Wat. Some of the white round lights inside the photo taken in the early morning looks like orbs :D But I guess that was dirt.. I dunno..

If the zombie request for sugar, then it's still alright.. worse still if they request for blood :P

winn,
kakaa, u are always up with humourous ideas. Well, we had experienced 4 spirits following us home in the past & appeared in the middle of the night.. But after we say prayer, the spirits (4 black figures) varnished...

We always say a prayer before we leave the cemetery.

LB,
Dogs are indeed very faithful. More faithful than human. My mum's friend in the past wanted to throw away her dog (I don't know for what reason). They drove the dog to a farway places (many miles away) & left the dog there. But the dog managed to find his way back home few weeks later... And they keep the dog together with them forever after that touching incident..

interesting... not scary at all... I don't know what happened with my dad's cemetery which located very near from Borobudur and Prambanan Temple. His cemetery is very nice... it's on the mountain (hill is a more pricesly word).

Chen said...

day dreamer,
why not? :D

fh2o,
unker, don't be so mean to the angmoh lah.. hahahha...

selba,
located on the mountain? very good fengshui :) How frequent u visit your dad's cemetery? I haven't visit my dad's cemetery for quite some time already... :(

try driving thru cemeteries in the morning of late evening ... very peaceful or errie feeling, depending on your state of mind.

the house may belongs to the caretaker of the cemetery

Chen said...

wilson,
poor malnourished moo-moo

slurp,
there's another house deeper inside the cemetery area (belongs to the caretaker). I took the photos but didn't put up in the post.

Hehhe, I drive past the cemetery area every day.. morning & late evening/night. There were several times I drove passing by the cemetery area at 2 am or 3 am or 4 am in the early morning (i can't remember the exact time) :) As long as "don't think too much", nothing will happen LOL

Waaa...got kopitiam wan here...

Liuliuliu...

Seriously, I'm a coward. At nite if I passed by any cemetary (mostly in Pg), my mind will wander and wander... especially the stretch along Tanjong Tokong there... brrr....

You know, along the Millionaire's Row (is that the rite name ah??), the road where Citibank is located, there's one manshion which belonged to Yap Chor Yee? Well, since i was a lil' girl, each time i pass by that manshion, i hv this imagination whereby his mayat is still laid to rest (all the time) inside the house! I donno who/what gave me that idea but I've always been very takut when i pass by that road at nite... what I do is, I'll pretend to look the other way... liuliu...

i've had experience renting an apartment facing the graveyard, somewhere in seputih, kl behind the istana negara. it's quite a breathtaking view from the 10th floor of the apartment. i'm not scared of the ghost, but more worried of drug addicts who frequent the place to do their activities. given the choices, i won't buy a house facing the graveyard either.

Hi Mdm Dr Chen

I thot U were a male until you reveal in one post about hubby and children.

Ok what about crematorium. Can see lots of fancy 'car car' . Sometimes can even see the whole thg. Some with music. That is called leaving with a bang.

Glad you focus on old tree and cows first.

Nurul has a good point: The WORST thing to fear is not ghost, but humans!

This is one act strongly against by my mum. So, not to make her worry, I decided to control myself from taking pictures on them. Gosh!! Those pictures of yours, you are making my fingers intchy to go to the graveyard now.

Hey Chen, do you know the very pretty graveyard on the way from sarikei to Bintangor?? Like a miniature resort area. Wooo la la~~~

FooDcrazEE said...

i have actually seen in Vietnam - the graveyard of family members besides the house. To them its good feng shui.....eh ?

Chen said...

angel,
LOL at angel hiding under LiuBee's & WinLiuLiu's skirt :P What is there in the kopitiam? :D Any lormaikai?

The stretch along Jalan Tanjung Tokong there is not scarylah, dear.. They fence up the area not long ago.. or might be I'm so used to it already.. Since that has become a routine :D

I know the mansion u r talking abt, but I dunno what's the name of the road :P Hahha, who cares what's the name as long as I know how to go about? Frankly speaking, I didn't really go & see what's the name of most of the roads in Penang. Tau jalan sudah okie :)

butt,
Aiyoh, what on earth are u doing at pagi-pagi buta hour? U should be Zzzz in bed at this hour, unless u r doing or working night shift :P

This area is slightly deeper inside (not along the main road).. but nearby the road I used to travel everyday..

Chen said...

nurul,
That's true. Drug addicts like to hang around desserted areas..

scare kitty,
Hahha, what a confusion, but glad u get it cleared :)

I've never witnessed a live crematorium before except from tv but I have visited the places where they keep the ashes..

zero impact,
Bright day light, no need to scare lah.. :D

Chen said...

photocrazy,
Issit? Depends on how u view it :) I'm thinking of going to the Jewish Cemetery for more photo shooting session..

spinosum,
Yeah, human is more "scary" than ghost ;)

fish fish,
Heheh, I guess my mum won't like me to do so as well. Well, I guess she won't read my blog, so it's alright :P

The pretty graveyard on the way from Sarikei to Bintangor? Mmmmm... My father's cemetery is somewhere around that area (for the Cantonese), but I can't remember the exact location..

food crazee,
Different nation, different culture. :) Just as during the bird or avian flu period, it is hard to control the spread in certain countries cos they live together with the livestocks.. Chicken, duck, geese, cow, goat etc etc all staying together with the family in one house.. Really one big happy family :D

My dad died in November 1992, so far, I only visited his cemetery 3 times.... yeah, probably I'm not a good daughter according a lot of people... because when he was in the hospital, I didn't visit him neither when he died, I also didn't come to his funeral....

Anyway... I don't care about what other people think...

I believe that my dad knows how deep my love is for him.

Robin CHAN said...

Notice that the cementary is infront of a mountain..

Good Fengshui!

Aka.. night club, since activity start at night.
hehe

Chen said...

selba,
What really matter is what is inside your heart :) I'm sure your dad knows you love him very much & you missed him...

robin,
Oh.. I dunno about the fengshui thing :) Night club? Imagine the spirits come out dancing & having fun in the middle of the night :D

wow the houses are in striking color... i can see orange and red :)

Chen said...

carcar,
I guess the striking colour serves the purpose to contrast the bright coloured house with the dull grey colour of the graveyard ;)
