Bubur Cha Cha (莫莫查查)

I cooked bubur cha cha (莫莫查查) on Saturday evening. Bubur Cha Cha is one of the popular Dessert or Tong Sui in Malaysia. (By the way, bubur cha cha has nothing to do with cha cha dance or mong cha cha.. or mc2 . This is my own "version" of bubur cha cha...(with banana as extra ingredient) a sweet concoction with sweet potato cubes, yam or taro cubes, thin slices of banana, sago pearl + Nestle Ideal evaporated milk (to substitute coconut milk or santan). I didn't put in pandan leaves (why? cos I don't have pandan leaves in the kitchen).. A simple and easy to prepare dessert. Nice to eat when served warm.

selba,
We can compare the food stuffs/dishes we have :) Your Hokkien Lo Mie is different from our Penang Loh Mee.

jacky,
I would like to give u some too, but u r too late, cos we finished up the last drop already :)

Selba,
oh, okie :)
next time when u go to have the old version of Loh Mee, take a picture of it :D I haven't have Loh Mee for ages already.. I guess few years already :)

carcar,
I take the simplified way.. boil everything together... (except the banana and the sago pearl). The "soup" or "tong" will be tastier also this way.. The sago pearl I cook it separately. The banana I just sliced and put into the tong sui prior to serving :)

Bubur Cha Cha is one of my all time favourites ... there is a nice hawker stall in Seremban which only opens at night in one of the streets near the market and it is YUMMY ... ayo now I miss home and wanna some bubur cha cha now ... hehe

sbanboy,

you are one of a healthy conscious doc. i don't mind putting the santan, but i try my best not to.

Hmm....looks so delicious. Wish I could have a bowl now. Pisang rajah is the best banana for this dessert. Singapore's version has colourful chewy cubes which I find it strange.

Chen said...

shoshauna,
yeah.. banana :)

alicia,
I don't mind cold bubur cha cha, but I prefer it warm :)

nurul,
I haven't use santan for long time liao.. :D

it's my life story,
Yeah, some people put in the chewy cubes. I don't like the chewy cubes, that's why I didn't include the ingredients inside..

carcar,
"someone" is experimenting, I mean cooking the dessert for the first time today..

sbanboy said...

Hmmm I wonder who is the experimenting ? Kekeke

Chen said...

sbanboy,
who is experimenting?
Our beloved "Tai Kor" loh :)

sbanboy said...

Hahaha hahaha.... I had so much fun - "Seng Kung" (success) loh .. now I think I made too much ...

Chen said...

sbanboy,
