槛榄 Olive

Junk food, anyone? This is one of my favourites.. preserved 槛榄. What is it called in English? Is it Preserved Olive?

Talking about 橄榄 reminds me of this song 《橄榄树》 by 齐豫:

不要问我从哪里来
我的故乡在远方
为什么流浪
流浪远方流浪
为了天空飞翔的小鸟
为了山间清流的小溪
为了宽阔的草原
流浪远方流浪
还有还有
为了梦中的槛榄树, 槛榄树……

Highly salted preserved foods are associated with an increased risk of stomach cancer in areas of the world where these foods are consumed regularly. The specific components that may be carcinogenic have been identified. The commercial manufacturing methods used for salt-preserved and salt-pickled foods are different in the different countires where their consumption is associated with cancer.

This one is not sour lah..
I have this habit of shooting picture of food several months back, at least more than half a year ago.
Just that I keep those picture as my personal collection and didn't post up loh..
But since I see u post a lot of pict like this , I also ikut sama the trend loh... fun mah :D

Cynthia and Dino,,
There are several types of preserved olives, right?
Some are sweet, some are a bit bitter, some are sour, some are bitter sweet sour etc etc..
This one is nice.. mixture of bitter and sweet :)

fh20,
muahhaha.. good idea..
But this olives I bought have no seeds.. I mean they deseed all the olives already with machine..
So, easier to eat :D

Well, I did feel unwell yesterday night;
Having headache and slight fever..
Took two tablets of panadol and slept for few hours after I came back from work.
Today I'm okay already and continue working as usual :)

Thanks for your new year wishes. Happy New Year 2006 to u and your family as well.

Winn,
Hah? potato pulak..
very easy, just pop it straight into the mouth --> chew ---> swallow :P
nope, the one used for salad is different..

Robin,
Wooo.. someone is very health conscious..
As long as eat in small or moderate amount is alright..
Or else we can't eat anything at the end of the day if we follow everything strictly..
Rule of Thumb : Don't overconsume.

Thanks for your new year wish. Happy New Year to u and your family and all your doggies :)

fish fish
Thanks.. Selamat Tahun Baru to u as well..
I dunno how to wish Happy New Year in Bahasa Jepun :P

This song ah.. 橄榄树 by 齐豫. Another famous song of her is 船歌.
I don't or hardly listen to the new songs by the new generation singers :D
Prefer the singers from the 80's :P
