The other stall i bought have this crunchy fried chee cheung. Different stall they serve it differently kua?

There is another popular stall in New Lane. Nyonya Pg loves the chee cheung chuk there. U can see the intestines hanging in the stall. Quite a nice scene. hahhahah

iml said...

Gross it may look that we asian actually eat most of the innards. Have to admit, I enjoy my chee chap chuk esp the stall located behind chowrasta market.

When I was young, my dad used to bring me to the Pasar in Menglembu.
We will sit and makan CCC.
I was fascinated by those 'clump' of dark reddish thingy. Feel like jelly.

Of course, when I grew up a bit, I stop eating CCC altogether. ^-^

heart! heart! where is the heart?

Eryn said...

I had this CCC at New Lane and I don't even know what's really inside the CCC except the liver, intestine and kidney. =P

And they have this crispy crispy ocipalang thingy. Any idea what it is? You ever try that stall in New Lane? I think it's New Lane gua. Somewhere next to Sunway Hotel.

I miss kueh chap. :(

pig brain? Eeee.....nice meh? Aiya, see see piggy just ran away like lightning! Hehehhe

If the doc says it is good to eat, then it is good for our health, yes?

Doreen said...

You've just been tagged. Two tags hor. Hehehhe

L B said...

You, as a member of the OK-Something Klan Choir, have been TAGGED!!

doc said...

i think all is well if you don't reveal the ingredients. pig brain omelette could have easily been mistaken for oh chean.

i remember years ago on a study visit to a tau sar pneah shop in penang. we were given samples to taste & one of my muslim classmates said it was very delicious. no one had the heart afterwards to tell him it contained lard!!!

ah, ignorance is indeed bliss!!

Chen said...

IML,
The stall behind the Chowrasta Market? Trying hard to figure out which stall is that :D

yenjai,
Hahahha, the jelly-like thingy looks kinda interesting huh? Some foreigners dunno what is that leh..

I remember seeing my parents killing the kokokai in the past and collecting the blood. And i still remember the scene watching the blood coagulating.

NBB,
Ooops... the heart ah?

Mmmmm... Cos we dun have the heart to eat the heart loh..
That's why :P

Chen said...

eryn,
I ate from that same store (in New Lane) u mentioned several times. That was one of the popular chee cheong chuk in town. Summore u can see the countless intestines hanging in the stall. Quite a nice scene. hahhahah

Those crispy stuff is the deep fried small intestine :D

jellyfish,
That's why u now become so clever.. Eating so much stuff that pou nou in the past. Hahhahhaa

doreen,
Nice.. it is something subjective. Some people love it, but some hate it. Just like liulian, hoh? :P

Poor piggy. Hope he didn't fall when he was running away for life like a road runner :P

Chen said...

giddy tiger,
Char Koay Teow is nice to eat too..
And so is sio tu bak..
OMS !! :P

doreen,
Wah.. give me two pressie in a day. Thanks for tagging me, I will do them soon.. (hopefully :P)

LB,
*faint again*
Luckily it's the same tag as the one that doreen had just tagged me few minutes earlier on..
*phew* :P

doc,
Yeah, i remember the story of someone enjoying eating the crunchy deep fried worms without knowing it is worms earlier on :P

Ooops... so kesian leh your muslim classmate. I presume he never knew the truth up to this day? ;)

LX said...

Thanks for the labelling. Now I know what I usually eat. HAhahah!

Jun said...

i agree! coagulated blood is missing! eh, eat pig brain will become "pig head pig brain" or not? (read in chinese, i malas to type chinese here ;p)

Chen said...

lynnx,
Hahaahaha... it's good to know what we eat. But at times, ignorance can be bliss. LOLOL.. Especially when eating insects or worms. :P

jun,
LOL. Err.. I think u mean 人头猪脑 @ human head pig brain instead of pig head pig brain, right?

Definitely not leh.. At least I'm a living example proving the theory is wrong. Kakkakkaka

iml said...

I'll check it out and let you know the next time I am back in Penang :)

YUM!!!
My type of food! Love them!!
I can't live with just eating chicken . I don't quite see the variety in KL / PJ, though. But each time I go to Singapore that's where I find more choices of these chap chap :D

I miss Miri's kueh chap...

Chen said...

liyin,
Might be KL people don't fancy so much of this sort of food. I love Sarawak Kueh Chap too. The one in Penang taste different (the soup) from the one I used to have in Sarawak. I didn't eat kueh chap my last trip back home as there are too many things to eat ;)
