What Plant is This?

Maymay, this is the weird plant I told u earlier on :)

This is the only plant that I have in da house. This plant that doesn't looks like a plant. No green element... No chlorophyll.. Frankly speaking, it looks more like an animal to me.. LOL The "leaves" indeed looks like fur... Not only it looks like fur.... It gives me the feeling that I was petting the animal's coat of fur when I touched it.. Mmmm...

Anyone knows what is the name of this plant? I dunno what is the actual name or the identity of this weird plant but I call it as Golden Chicken Plant, hahaha.. Cos to me, it looks like ayam from afar with gold-coloured feather... Hahaha... So far, I have seen this plant two or three times only.. I bought this in Cameron Highland in 2005.

Hmm, look like an awful wig that someone just put on a pot ;-), do you have to water it and all? Wow I have never seen this before, very interesting, thx for sharing. BTW, was it expensive when you buy it?

Chen said...

slurp,
thanks for the info :)
so golden lion or golden dog is the real name:D
then golden chicken is the nickname then for the cutie wild fern :)

thao,
I water the plant occasionally, once in a week or once in a fortnight :P It's not expensive. RM 20 for one plant (our Msia currency).. which is less than USD 6 :)

I've seen this plant sold at the roadsides at Cameron Highlands. Yes, it's known as the Golden chicken plant. I've found out that its a species of fern, but interested to learn more. I've started a page on wikipedia, hopefully others will expand on it.
