Kuching Waterfront

Kuching Waterfront is one of the popular tourist spot and attraction in Kuching. A long stretch, approximately 1 km, along the Sarawak River. Visitation to Kuching is not complete without a stroll at this place. I came here twice during my stay in Kuching this time. The photo above and the photo below are taken on different days.

There's River Cruise as well, for tourists as well as locals to cruise along the Sarawak River.

Lotsa food/drinks stalls and souveneir stalls available along the way on the esplanade.

The white building across the Sarawak River is the Astana.

There are few crocodile statue at the edge of the Kuching Waterfront, not the real crocs. But, there are indeed real crocodiles lurking around in the water/rivers in Sarawak. One of the famous one is "Bujang Senang"...

This brightly painted boat seen in the above photo is the perahu tambang or teksi sungai. I will write another post on these perahu tambang together with photos soon.

Looks like a great place to go for a stroll, and the cloud formations are so pretty.

Sadly Cream would most probably freak out at the sight of the croc - statue or real. :(

Thanks for sharing!

Furkids in HK,
yeah, it's indeed a good place to go for a stroll.. Good place to relax oneself or have a drink as well, while enjoying the nice river view.

Heheh.. don't bring Cream near the croc statue :)

Greenapple,
Sarawak welcomes u :)

Carcar,
Oh yeah.. Christmas is just around the corner...
However, not much xmas deco seen in the shopping mall/complex yet.

I went to the Lion City near Christmas ages ago (almost 2 decades ago).
I can still remember the beautiful scene of Christmas in Singapore (including Orchard Road) ...
I will go back there again...

BabeKL,
Do pay a visit to the Land of Hornbills, u definitely won't regret :)

Winn,
Hahha.. it rains quite frequently in Kuching as well lah.. :D

The best view of the Kuching Waterfront is from the Sarawak River itself on a kayak! Trust me on this! :)

mercuri2000,
I presume u worked in Sarawak before since u stayed there for almost 3 years :)
Some of my friends who were reluctant to go there earlier on, later, don't want to come back to Peninsular.
They just grew in love with that place ;)
(and of course, some of them get married with the local girls as well)

yaya, nice place, not traffic hassle and also very relaxing. Can't get over the food though, when I first ordered Cantonese friend noodles, imagine my chagrin when it came all "smoldered" in tomato ketchup! I nearly fainted! Ah well, different strokes for different people I'd say.;P
