BCDFE

Reading about inhalational agent today & come across this thing BCDFE :)
Well, it's the breakdown product of Halothane... (It would be more special if the name is BCDEF)

Degradation of Halothane in soda lime will give rise to vinyl compound, known as 2-Bromo, 2-Chloro, 1,1-DiFluoroEthane (also known as BCDFE)
at least this is easier to remember than breakdown product of Sevoflurane..

Degradation of Sevoflurane in soda lime will give rise to vinyl ether compound, also known as Compound A or Pentafluoro Isopropenyl Fluoromethyl Ether (or PIFE). *Pening* to remember this long "organic chemical" name..

ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRS
Therefore A to S
Therefore Atos.

Do u know why not Atoz? because that MPV is A to S only. T to Z kenot be achieved due to thier level belum sampai lagi

Pentafluoro Isopropenyl Fluoromethyl Ether....

base is what? ether? with 2 C atoms, first C atom has a C5H5F5 link (5 C atoms with a double bond and 5 Fluorine); the second C atom on the ether has a CH2F link.

so the formula should be like:
(CH3CH2)2O.C5H5F5.CH2F?

ekekeke

the correct formula is CF2 = C(CF3)OCH2F

Gasman,
So hard to read up Anaes stuffs, and some of the subjects are very dry & boring.... physiology, pharmacology, physics & measurements & statistics as well.. U still u want to further in this field ah?
