Hari Raya Aidilfiltri

Didn't manage to visit any Ramadhan bazaar this year cos either I'm busy with work and at the evening that I'm free, it rained... I'm lazy to go to the market if it rained.. Slight drizzling is still alright, but if heavy rain, then, no point going. Now, it's the raining season again (monsoon), and most of the time, it rained, especially in the late evening and night time.

Went to one of my colleague's open house for Hari Raya Aidilfiltri this afternoon. So at least I can still manage to eat some of the Hari Raya goodies :P Enjoyed myself very much with the delicious and yummy food servings such as nasi hujan panas, Curry Chicken, Daging masak kicap, Rendang, Lemang, Ketupat with the delicious kuah kacang etc... There's lotsa cookies, cakes, keropok, kerepek, muruku and other tit bits as well. Delicious.

Now after eating, I feel so sleepy :)

(I'm off this today, so manage to do visitation.. :P I was on call last Tuesday, on Deepavali Day and it's such a busy day.. So many critical and unstable ill patients..).

Wishing all my Muslim friends
Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfiltri.
Maaf Zahir Batin.

sklee,
I do agree lotsa people do use busy as excuse for not doing certain things...(and I did that at times as well) But, indeed I was busy over the past few weeks and came back home late, or else I won't miss the chance of visiting the Ramadhan bazaar which is only held once a year :)

I just noticed about the typing error, it's nasi hujan panas actually, I forget to type in the world "panas" ~ it's the "colourful" rice with colouring like red, green, yellow etc besides the natural colour .. :)

Rabbit,
The first time I heard about this is during Hari Raya Aidilfiltri last year. I was on call on that day, and they serve Nasi Hujan Panas for our on call food. I have never see the rice before, and I ask my nurse what the heck is it. That's how I get to know about the name :P

Why did they name it nasi hujan?

did it so happened that it 'hujan' when they first invented that delicacy?

(HM...sinking into deep tot)

Winn,
I really have no idea lah how that name (nasi hujan panas)come about :P

Might be as u say ~ it rained on a hot sunny day when they invented the dish, and that's how the name origined :P

Hm. i was cooking maggi mee yesterday when it rained....

and so i named it maggi-mee hujan. KAKAKAKA..

paramesura did the same thing and named 'melaka' - "MELAKA" coz he was resting against a pokok melaka while watching the sang kancil does its tricks ...etc etc...right?
hm, i m amazed that i still can still rememeber!hahhaa
