Boysenberry

Are you familiar with the name boysenberry? At least not me (in the past). The first time I came across the berry, my impression is... What a cute name. Yeah, it is related to blackberry and rich in Vitamin C and anti oxidant.

And watch out.. it can stain your clothes if you are not careful. :P

  4. Rainbow Angeles,
Ya, looks like mulberry. I was thinking just now.. this boysenberry resembles one of the berries, but forgotten the name. Haha. I tasted the mulberry before, when i went for the silk road tour. We eat the mulberry and silkworm will eat the mulberry leaves. LOL

Didn't know that we can grow mulberry in Malaysia too. Kekeke

Might be hoh, u can name your mulberry plant in Penang as the Girlsenberry plant? :P

  5. kyh,
I read from internet that it was named after a person (Boysen) who owns the farm.

The fruit is soft. Tasted sourish with tinge of sweetness :)

  8. Nice of you to introduce this to us your readers!

Nice picture...love the shape of the berries.

BTW mulberry can be grown in Indonesia. There is a silk factory inKuching. So I have been wondering if they are growing mulberry or not.
