hcpen, Yeah, good stuff, and especially when eating together with the hot chilli sauce.
day dreamer, Hehe, the next time u come to Penang, don't forget to eat it. ;)
doreen, The type of oh chean u mentioned r the one commonly seen in Sarawak. This is the teochew type (the egg omelette was mixed with starch), and commonly seen in Penang. We serve this with chilli sauce. I prefer this type of oh chean than the crispy whole piece oh chean. :)
i love o chien. but i also scared lao sai. esp older folks, their stomach like cannot take this very well. opps, am i spoiling other's appetite? sorries. :p
VampireM, Had this from one of the stall infront of Sin Kim San kopitiam (at the junction between Rangoon Road and Macalister Road). There are few stalls selling oh chean there, need to order from the correct stall. :)
Sarawakiana The juicy Oh Chean. We had oh chean again last Thursday.
Come and visit Penang again lah one of these days, and savour the Penang delicacies again. :)
iml, Penang has lotsa nice and yummy food. Btw, can u get oh chean in Singapore? :)
keeyit, Is the Malacca oh chean the same as the one in Penang, Teochew style? I have never tasted oh chean in Malacca. The oh chean in Sarawak is cooked differently. :)
misti, Older folk? U r not old lah, Misti.
Btw, ya.. this dish is high in cholesterol. Oyster + Egg, and summore... fried with oil. But most importantly don't eat it too frequent loh :)
red sponge, Ya, very yummy photo. Can even savour with your eyes (like what Pink Cotton always say). LOL
pink winnie, Most of the stalls here serve oh chean with small oysters. But this stall give big oysters with similar price as other stalls. Hence value for $$$. :)
jason, LOL. As long as don't eat very frequently okie lah. Btw, we only eat out like once or twice a week, not everyday lah. :P
Where is that? I can't wait to eat it...and the char kway teow...and the ikan bakar etc etc etc... I'm going to Penang this Thursday, staying over a week with my daughter at hotel there. She's on a one-week break and will come over from SP...
