Photo Hunters : Pink

photo hunters

Today's theme is Pink.

Presenting something different ~ the non edible Pink Banana or Musa Velutina Pinkie. Photo taken at Unker's house in Kuching, Sarawak.

The banana tree looks exactly like the normal banana trees except the fruit is pink in colour :)

    yellow banana - refers to chinese, 'cos we yellow mah.

    pink banana - refers sunburnt angmoh, 'cos they turn pink under the sun?

    Hehehe.. The fruit looks nice but it has no nice aroma like the edible yellow banana. And the fruit is pretty hard. Even the birds and the other animals are not interested with those pink banana :)

    It's an rare plant over here too. We have the normal yellow banana plants (which is edible), but not the pink one.

    Speaking of bananas, we were at the weekend market and saw this really huge banana... winn took a pic of her holding the big banana... the seller said, it's 'niu jiao jiao' (cow horn banana)... then sk said, ohh... neh, beside there got a lot of 'ren jiao jiao'... ROTFLMAO! beh tahan!

    tat huge banana is also called "Pisang Tanduk", for pisang goreng wan. Did u buy and eat the pisang goreng? So far i didn't see it in Peninsular Msia yet.
