On This Day...

Lately I'm lazy to write post. Hence I curi-ed the Moo birthday greetings from Angeles Moo , Misti Moo and Doreen Moo. (psss.. I've Moo-ified Angeles and Doreen btw :P)

Thanks everyone for the birthday greetings and wishes on my Cow One aka 牛一. So many Moo-s, sure lotsa Moolahs liao. Kkekekekek... Btw, anyone has any idea why in Cantonese, birthday is also known as 牛一 (Cow One)? They murder one Moo Moo for the birthday celebration ah? o.O Hopefully not.. Actually hoh Gua tak tau the reason behind it... :)

    I searched baidu and found this answer:

    牛一"是广东人的习惯说法,因为有些人比较迷信,怕在生日时会有什么相冲的,所以不想大大方方地宣扬自己过生日,所以将"生"字拆开成"牛一",以牛一或牛日来代替生日之说,达到避讳的目的.
    还有人说"日头辣"_意思是说太阳晒得很猛,也是迷信的说法,企图通过热辣辣的太阳将霉气赶跑.广东人把生日又称作“牛一”
