31.12.2007

Time Flies...
Few more hours to go...
Before we bid farewell to 2007
and welcome 2008 with ????
(dunno with what yet)
Most people will do a reflection on themselves,
or what they have accomplished in 2007
But I won't do so this time since I'm lazy tired...
and no New Year Resolution either
(Well, I have never made any new year resolution all these years) :P
kekekekekke...
I just came back from holiday mah..
So, what u wanna expect? :P

Happy New Year 2008
Happy Liu Yer
See you all next year

Sugee Cake

Haven't have this for ages ~ the authentic home-made Christmas Goodies, The Sugee Cake.

With generous portion of chopped almond as topping...

The buttery Sugee Cake, crumbly in texture and ladened with fat... So Buttery, so Oily, So Sinful. See No Evil :P

Wanna have some? Although it looks like any other yellow butter cake, but the taste is different. Sorry, I don't have the recipe. And yeah, today is Christmas Eve. :)

What is Christmas to u?

May tagged me on The 12 Things I Love About Christmas. These are the 12 things I Love about Christmas.

1) To celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ
2) Time to get together with family members and friends.
3) The warm, peaceful and lovely atmosphere.
4) A great opportunity to share the good news to the others.
5) The Cheerful and Happy Mood
6) Meaningful Christmas Songs, Caroling and Hymns
7) Giving and Receiving Christmas Presents and Greeting Cards
8) Christmas Tree, Christmas decoration and ornaments, Christmas Light and Candles
9) Photography session at the Shopping Mall (which I didn't do this year cos lazy)
10) It is a Public Holiday
11) A White Christmas (which I have yet to experience it)
12) The Christmas Dinner, cookies, cakes and other tit bits (yeah!)

Monaco tagged me on "What is Christmas to you?"

Christmas is a wonderful season of the year. It is more than just a festive season, more than just a holiday, or the caroling, or the giving, receiving or exchanging of gifts among family members, loved ones and friends etc. Christmas celebrates the birth of our Saviour, Lord Jesus Christ. Over 2,000 years ago, a child, who was the Son of God was born in Bethlehem. Jesus Christ is God's greatest gift (which is gift of Love) to us. Jesus has come to show us the way to God. He died on the cross for our sins and to give us eternal life. Jesus Christ is the Reason for the Season. That is the true meaning of Christmas to me.

What is Christmas to u?
What are the things that u love about Christmas?
Have A Blessed Christmas.

GRB Attack

Yeah, it is the time of the year again. The Winter Solstice Festival aka Dong Zhi (冬至/过冬) has arrived.

The notorious Tang Yuen (汤圆) is a MUST during this festive season. Yeah, The cute GRB (Glutinous Rice Balls) Attack. These klang klang GRB are meant to be eaten and not to be thrown, unless u wanna participate The sticky GRB Fight. :P

So many Klang klangs. So many Balls. So many Bebola. So many 汤圆. In case if u are unlucky and didn't get the chance to eat the yummy tang yuen this year, you can substitute it by eating fish balls (since they are all balls, except that different type of flour is used. Hahaha... is this ajaran sesat?) LOL

Happy Winter Solstice
(psss... Don't Forget to Attack More Balls this Dong Zhi)

My Solar Toy

I first get to know this cute Japanese toy big round head Nohohon fella from Ben Ben in 2006. Since the 大头仔 are so cute, I can't help but to get myself one. Shouldn't let the cute stuff sitting there collecting dust waiting till the cows come home in the shop mah.

Introducing my Pinkie Nodding Head NoHoHon. These cutie fellas are powered by the solar energy.

Then I increased my collection again few months ago. My latest addition was The Orange Dancing NoHoHon ~ shaking head and io ka ch'ng all day long. (Too much ecstasy?) Kkkkkkkkkk....

I place them on top of my CPU. Syiok wah seeing them nodding and swaying head, dancing and io-ing ka chng (shaking butt). Thinking to get my 3rd one soon. I still prefer the original simple NoHoHon character in comparison with the newer addition in the market (such as those flip flop leaves, frog, dog, monkey, mickey mouse, piggy, hello kitty, mushroom/tungku, piggy, cow etc etc etc) :P

Io Io Io and 摇摇摇... I love my NoHoHon Solar Pets Toys :)

Choc Choc

Beryl Almond Milk Chocolate

Which chocolate do you prefer? :
Oval, Square or Weird-shaped Chocolate?
White, Milk or Dark Chocolate?
Sweet, Bitter or No Sugar Added Chocolate?

or It doesn't mater whether it is Dark Chocolate or White Chocolate, as long as it is delicious, it is nice chocolate (Modify Deng XiaoPing's (邓小平) famous quote "It doesn't matter if the cat is black cat or white cat, so long as it catches rats, it is a good cat". (不管黑猫白猫, 能抓到老鼠就是好猫). LOL

p/s: Do try out the Beryl Chocolate (local product). Good Stuff.

Rodents in My Room

Angel posted about Mice Tales, so being Copy Cat "Garfield", I wanna post about those Rodents in my rooms too. Not one, not two, but plenty rats mouse-s (or are they mice?) But my poor mouse-s are malnourished, hence the small size. Unlike those well-nourished mouse in the early days, which are fat and juicy. LOL

Some of my lovely Tetikus (which are Alive and Well). I have too made rodents in the house, and poor Angel is also infected with the "Mouse Bugs" after our sampat mouse-talk that night. And yet she asked me why I bought so many mouse-s that night. LOL

My mini white Mouse eating accompanying the white MacBook Apple. Both are white-white tei. I love small stuff, hence I prefer using the mini mouse (instead of the gigantic Apple Mouse) :P

Photo Hunters : Small

photo hunters

Today's theme is SMALL.

I remember doing a similar Photo Hunter post with the theme tiny few months back, featuring the tiny lizard eggs. Today, the small stuff that is featured here is none other than my "cute mini porcelain piglets resting on the sofa", which have accompanied me for years. I place them next to my Samsung LCD monitor.

The two piglets are about the size of a 10 cent coin, which is approximtely 2 cm in diameter. They are small, aren't they? Yeah, Size does Matter (echoing Godzilla's tagline). Hehehe...

菜尾汤

This is what I want to, and feel like eating now.. My all-time-favourite mouth watering Chai Boey Soup (菜尾汤). In the early days, the soup is prepared with all the leftover meat and vegetables, namely roast pork lah, duck lah, chicken feet lah, bones lah, pineapple lah, tomato lah, chillies lah, mustard green lah, salted vege lah, assam lah, and basically all the ocipala leftover stuff. But those were the old days when the actual "leftover" were used as ingredients.

The Salty, Sour and Spicy "Triple S" taste, The Ocipala Soup... I like! However, I will have to drool for the time being, since what I have is only... Mushroom Tungku Soup. :(

Green Plum

What is more exciting than seeing something extraordinary? Something that is different from the norm. This is the first time I came across Green Plum. I'm so accustomed to plums in other "colour".

Taste wise, it is similar just as the other plums. But it is still unique cos it is GREEN ! :P

Old TVB drama series

I have a good time watching those nostalgic late 70's - early 80's TVB drama series theme songs (无线电视剧主題曲). 令人回味的經典金曲. Remembering that night when I yakked with Angel for hours, reminiscing the old TVB drama series, and another time with Moz over the similar topic. Time flies.. Some of those series were broadcasted on RTM2 in the past, in the 80's. I took time compiling these theme songs so that I replay back and watch them whenever I feel like doing so :)

親情 - 羅文

網中人/ The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (1979)- 張德蘭

千王之王/ The Shell Game (1980) - 汪明荃

上海滩/ The Bund (1980)- 叶丽仪

Pisang Tanduk @ 牛角蕉

Following last Friday's Long Stamp and Long Card post, today I will continue with another "LONG" entry. Nope, this is not a lengthy post. Not only it is LONG but it's also BIG. And most importantly it is edible.
Photo taken at The Satok Market, Kuching, Sarawak @ July 2006.

Presenting the macho and gigantic Pisang Tanduk, aka 牛角蕉 (dunno what is the English name, could it be Horny Banana?) .

Photo taken at The Satok Market, Kuching, Sarawak @ October 2007

I heard from Ben Ben that Ah Winn gets pretty excited seeing the Pisang Tanduk, cos that was the first time she saw such a huge banana. So far I haven't come across the Horny Banana in Peninsular Malaysia yet.

The yummy Banana Fritters @ Pisang Goreng, bought from The Tabuan Market in Kuching, Sarawak (July 2006). Nope, u cannot peel the banana skin and eat the fresh Pisang Tanduk, even if the banana has ripen (unlike the other local bananas in the market). The sliced pisang tanduk are dipped in batter and deep fried, producing the wonderful snack. I'll get myself some during my next trip back home, cos it was one and half years ago since I last ate it. I used to have it as snack during my secondary school days.

Today's theme is LONG.

Presenting the LONG stamp. This is the first time I see such a long stamp.

Thanks to 天使 for the long stamp and the lovely long 3D Christmas card.

Yeah, I just received the 3D card this evening ("fresh from the oven"). I'm lovin' it, and so is Ah Boy. Terima Kasih Banyak-Banyak, Malaikat :)

Tu Kar

The sinful Pork Knuckle, aka Tu Kar. Seeing the Tu Kar will always remind me of that "someone".. And because of her mishap, subsequently each time when I was inside any hotels, I will pay extra attention to the steps. History shouldn't repeat, even though on the different person :P

I'm not a fan of Tu Kar but no harm eating it once in a blue moon... And that blue moon was one and half years ago, in Thailand.

*Photos taken when I was in Hatyai, Thailand @ May 2006*

Red Dates

Fresh Dates from China (also known as Chinese Dates @ Red Dates @ Chinese Jujube @ 紅棗). This is the second time I came across the red dates (bought the fruits from one of the stalls in KL Sentral). The first time was when I was in Beijing, China (in 2002).
The crunchy flesh resembles apple, and tastes like one too (Like Brother, Like Sister? But these are step-siblings as they are not biologically related :P).

I sacrificed one fresh red date - producing my own version of home made dried red date (紅棗) . Saja-saja, just for fun. One of the EFNTD activities. And I'm not wasting food either since the dried red date is edible :P

My gigantic 紅棗 in comparison with the "normal" red dates bought from the market. Leng mou?

Game & Watch : Octopus

Those from my era will know The Game and Watch Octopus handheld electronic game ~ one of the popular games in the mid 80's. This is the one and only handheld video game I had during my childhood primary/secondary school days. The Nintendo games during those days are simple black and white games with simple 2D graphic, such as the Octopus game. As u can see from the photo below, there are only left and right buttons for the game (Besides the Game A, Game B and Time buttons) :P
Well, there are no Game Boy, Brick Games/Tetris nor Play Station in the early days. Later on in life, as time goes, those fortunate ones will get to play the Micro Genius or the Atari video arcade games (using those cassette like cartridge). Reminiscing the Donkey Kong, Parachute, Popeye, Space Invaders, Wild Gun Man, Super Mario Bro, Pac Man, Lode Runner, Balloon Fight etc. Mmmm, I had never played Street Fighter in the past.

I can relive my childhood once again by playing this simple Sotong Octopus game on my PDA, but the thrill is no longer there. And it is no longer as addictive as it was in the past...

Liucas & Reece

Sampat Winn came up with the Liucas - 'Meet The Fans' Contest. The participants have to send in the most creatively funny dialogues of liucas and baby reece based on the picture given and stand a chance to meet liucas in person , AND the lucky winner gets to buy liucas some luxury food. (Hahahah, what sort of present is this? Only the sampat Winn can come up with such an sampat pressie). But I wanna participate also. Saja-saja, just for fun :P
Presenting the Io Ka Chng Liucas and Reece.

This is the Feedback from the birthday boy, Ah Boy. LOL

Not forgetting, today is Carcar's sweet 16th Birthday.
Happy Birthday Carcar
