Cute boh?

I went to FH2O's house last Thursday (5th day of CNY) since it's CNY. Unker showed me the bird nest in front of his house. The mama bird flew away when she saw us :P

How I took the above photo? Unker is kind enough to bring out a chair from his house. I stood on the chair, lowering down the tree branch (which holds the bird nest) with my left hand and started snapping photo with my right hand using my compact digicam Minolta Dimage X50. Cute but fragile little fella...

The birdies really grow up fast.. This is the latest update I get from FH2O's post.. Now the hungry little birdies look like this liao, with mouth widely open. Cute or not? How I wish I can see this lovely scene when I took the snapshots of the birds earlier on. Aiyhhhhhh.....

And surprisingly, the non edible Pink Bananas/Musa Velutina Pinkie which I saw when I visited Unker in August 2006 is still around !!

Golden Piggies !!

Guess what? I kidnapped these two cute piggies from Pink Cotton's house. She gave me green light to kidnap them :P

These piggies are supposed for kids woh... But I dun care lah.. since I'm still young in heart. Kkkkkkkkkk. If u "dissect" or perform postmortem on the pig, u will be rewarded with a piece of chocolate. Good deal?

And guess what? U can find pigs, pigs & pigs in her house. Lotsa piggies... This is indeed The Piggies Heaven :P

Instead of the traditional lion dance, the pinkish Pink Cotton (wearing the pink tops from Singapore, pink watch & pink nail varnish) decided to do something different. Since this is the Porky year, she came up with the modern lion pig dance with a pink piggy head. Oink oink oink :P

I'm back

Haven't go online for so lonngggggggggggggggggggggggg liao... cos no broadband in my house in Sarawak. Very sian to use the slow kaw-kaw dial up. Now I'm back to Penang :D

Received an sms from Angel in the early morning today (12:06 am woh... early or not)? Itu Angel or malaikat or 天使 cakap "Oink oink! u still alive bo?? Kkkkk... *snip*" Muahahhaha.... So sweet of her. She missed me kua? (let me perasan a bit) . I fast-fast called her back telling her I'm still A&W (Alive & Well). Before I hang up the phone, I told Angel that I met Angel few hours ago... *few seconds of silence* I can imagine Angel scratching head wondering what is it about... Kkkkkkkkkk... Actually, the Angel I saw Angel "the dog" lah.. Pink Cotton's doggy. LOL. The four-legged Angel :P

Get to know from Angel it was Misti's Cow One (aka Birthday) yesterday (24 February 2007) (cos the clock had already struck 12 midnight liao by then) ... I cepat-cepat sent an sms to Misti wishing her happy belated birthday (just few minutes belated). All these people are all Night Owls.

Happy Belated Birthday, Misti
Thanks for your double-boiled klong-klong soup with the "special" ingredients. I love it ;) Presenting the fluffy cloud picture to u on your birthday (The cloud is fluffy like the white cotton candy mah... sweet & lumm) Kkkkkkkkkkk. Hugs & Kisses & Muackssssss...

Before I forget, Happy Oink Oink Porky CNY... Still not too late mah.. today is only the 8th day.. one more week to go before Chap Goh Mei. Wishing everyone FKK (Fat kaw kaw)(Fatt kaw kaw) this festive season.

Met up with Cynthia, Jo & Robert in the late evening, and not forgetting the makan-makan Penang Food trip & cakap-cakap session. Tick Tock Tick Tock.. so fast 11 pm liao. Cham cham cham.. I'm so damn tired & sleepy.. and I haven't pack my luggage yet. I'm flying in 9 hours time... As usual I always do the last minute job - I mean last minute packing. Time really flies... It just seems like yesterday when I went back home in July last year.. I still remember meeting up with Ben, Pink Cotton, Red Sponge, Miracle8, Wilson, Kristopher, Fish-Fish,FH2O etc in Kuching..

Few compulsory things to bring back home - Handphone, pda, camera, card reader & charger... And not forgetting the CNY stuff I bought to bring back home. Kkkkkkkk... others are secondary. Mmmmm... Hopefully I'll stack packing before 12 midnight :P

Dreaming of Sarawak Bilin Fern liao...... I will reach Kuching by noon liao. What should I have for lunch tomorrow? Kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk...

The Great Desktop Challenge

Monkticon challenged me with this Great Desktop thingy. Luckily this is a very-very-very simple tag, cos I don't have to utilize any brain cells. No need to crack my head. I can preserve all the brain juice. Very sotongless & harmless. As easy as ABC (not the ABC soup --> cos this one definitely needs brain).
Instruction :
Minimize everything (as in all windows) until you only see your desktop. Now look at your keyboard and search for the "Print Screen" (or Prt Scr) button. Press that once. U can press twice too if your finger is itchy. Tarak masalah. Open your fav graphic editor. Paste and save tu gambar. Post that up on your blog & share your leng picture with the whole world. Dun forget to drop me a line after u hit the publish button.
Leng mou my wallpaper? - presenting the cute Ah Boy. With a tick-tock tick-tock clock at the upper left hand corner. Cos I believe "一寸光阴一寸金,寸金难买寸光阴".

I wanna sam pat & tag have a peep at ini orang punya desktop wallpaper & shortcut.
1) Papercrazy - Will I see papers, papers & papers?
2) Pink Cotton - Oops... disaster liao. I have a vague memory of seeing the havoc blue-blue dei background with lotsa-lotsa itu-itu barang !! Don't piak me :P
3) Redsponge - Will it be Bulat's cute picture? Or issit the green Katak?
4) LB - Don't tell me it's LMK?? PKK
5) Will - Any possiblities to see Mini's picture?
6) Bernard - Definitely not "those" picture, right? Cos I presume I will see Joseph :P

Responses (so far) :

Susuk

Life Focus section in The Star @ 10th February 2007 had an article on SUSUK. What the heck is Susuk? Susuk is not the abbreviation for Susu Busuk, okie? It is the ancient art of implanting foreign objects under the skin ---> to make that person more alluring woh. Betul keh? Berkesan keh?

Reading the news reminds me of some the cases that I encountered personally few years back. One of the cases was a Malay guy who allerged MVA (Motor Vehicle Accidents) with some minor facial abrasion wounds. X Ray revealed no facial bones fracture but numerous pieces of small metals or needles embedded in the orofacial region. The extend of "injuries" as per X Ray however didn't correlate with the "clinical findings" that we observed. If the foreign bodies were due to broken glass pieces or metals, then the patient definitely had to undergo surgery under General Anaesthesia to remove all the foreign particles. The patient was quite reluctant to tell the truth initially but after serials questioning, he finally admitted he had susuk in the past. (Save us the trouble to explore the wounds since those are embedded susuk and not broken glass pieces). At times it is difficult to differentiate these needle implants from small broken pieces of glasses or metals.
X Ray of someone with susuk (The Star Newspaper)

Besides inserting needles into their faces, I have seen cases of guys & girls with implantation of needles in their chests & thighs. Not only that, I have encountered few Malay young chaps with metal beads inserted underneath the shaft skin of the penis (not only one metal bead, but three). And these metal beads are mobile & can move around during sexual intercourse. They believe this has some special magic power to enhance their beauty and attractiveness, to enhance their sexual performances and sexual pleasure. Does these practices really cause physical transformation? Is it related to black magic or charm? *Ahem...

The Story of KK

The frequently appeared KK as in CKK, FKK, LKK, PKK, SKK, TKK, CKKK, TLKK, FFKKK recently reminds me of the famous KK story in the hospital which we encountered very frequently in the clinics or hospitals. On & off, when I asked the patients regarding their medication history, I will have patients (especially those middle-aged or elderly patients) telling me about the white KK pills, which they take for fever. What the heck is this KK pillss ? Haha, it is none other than Paracetamol (PCM) or Panadol tablets. How this name KK come about? Why KK?

Thanks to the huge KK imprinted behind the panadol tablets, giving the impression to some of the patients that KK is the "other" name for panadol. They never realised that KK = Kementerian Kesihatan (Ministry of Health) ! Many times, I was tempted to tell them the truth that KK is not equivalent to PCM but at the end, I didn't :P

See? Even ponstan (mefenemic acid) also has KK imprinted on the capsule :P

p/s: Hope nobody FKK (faint kaw kaw) after reading this post....

♥♥♥ is in the Air

Very fast, today is 9th February liao. Valentine Day coming soon, and so is Chinese New Year :) Wah.. I'll be flying back home in few days time. Cham, cham, cham.. haven't do my CNY shopping yet. I have a ♥♥♥ date with Cynthia this coming Valentine Day. Kkkkkkkk... Really looking forward to that day, cos must catch her before she flies back to Perth !!!! Else dunno when can meet up liao ;)

Since Valentine Day is around the corner, die-die also must play few love songs. Although these are old songs of yester-years, but I sukak mah. Old is Good ;)

Armpit ?

Aitelyu, when seeing patients, one of the clinical examination that I dislike is examining the armpit or axilla (mainly palpation for axillary lymph nodes). I don't mind shoving inserting my index finger into the anus (for PR or per rectal examination) or my index and middle fingers into the vagina (for VE or vaginal examination) cos at least I'm wearing gloves for the latter two procedures.

Why examining the armpit or axilla is not favourable? Imaging touching, examine and palpating the wet and sweaty hairy armpit with bare hands and fingers? It is not just a superficial touch but few several deep touches, including pushing the fingers into the axilla region for thorough examination of the armpits, especially patients with cancer or lymphoma. Summore, there are 5 main groups of axillary lymph nodes. If the armpit is dry, it is still alright.

Of course the proper way is to examine patient with clothes off which I do when examining or palpating other body parts. But when I examine armpit, I prefer to examine with clothes on, provided they wear thin clothes, so that I can have a thorough feel & palpation without "direct" touch. Kkkkkk.... The reason is very obvious right? I don't think you all want to touch other people's armpits if possible. If the patient wears sleeveless clothes, Mmmmmm... I kena many times liao examine patients with wet armpits with my bare hands. But I still have to act cool & professional like nothing had happened, and carry on with the other necessarily clinical examination :(

Side note : Pleaseeeeeeeee don't wear sleeveless clothes when u go for follow-up, (psssss...cos doctors are humans too). :P

Random Talk

Two days ago, I had lunch together with my friend. After a brief heart-to-heart talk about our ups & downs in life, she suggested...

Friend : Wanna go massage after work?
Me : Sure. Why not? I'll come & pick u up then. We go together in my car.

Later in the evening, we went for Shoulder & Back Massage (RM25 for half an hour session). So relaxing... So syiok.. So comfortable... No wonder I feel sleepy before 10 pm. Can zzzz & sleep soundly even without any somersault session.

Today, I was chit-chatting with another colleague cum fren after lunch. Just some normal keng kai, how's life bla bla bla session. Suddenly she put her head on my shoulder, giving me a shock. Of coz I shocked lah, coz I wondered what had happened. Rupa-rupanya she said i'm like a 大姐姐 (big sister) to her woh. Da jie jie ah? So sweet. Tonight I will have insomnia liao. Kkkkkkkkkk

What shall I do tomorrow night? Yeah, Bowling Games !! Hit & Knock Down the Pins. Strike!!

New World Park

Sunday afternoon is another makan-makan session, since Kenny is in town.

Late lunch for the day - Penang Assam Laksa & Duck Egg Char Koay Teow in Greenlane.

And not forgetting the so-so Loh Bak. Btw, this is not Lobak nor Carrot. And most importantly, this was not the end of the makan session yet...... Remember the roadside hawker stalls in Swatow Lane?

These were the roadside hawker stalls in Swatow Lane of yester-months (taken in September 2006). These scene is no longer available, cos it is now replaced with the newly built......

And this place is now called New World Park Hawker Centre. More spacious, more airy, more seats, more privacy, less stuffy, cleaner, more food selection, more parking spaces bla bla bla.. Indeed it's a much better place to TCSS, and the food price still remains the same.

Ais Kachang and Penang Fruit Rojak with Sotong.

The ever famous Chee Cheong Fan stall in Swatow Lane. U can judge the popularity of the stall by the never ending, constant number of customers

Most hawker stalls still keep their old sign board & price list for the food items despite having a new food items & price list board on the wall. Nostalgic kua? Got sentimental value kua? Mmm.. might be easier for the old timers customers to recognise the stalls kua?

Very confusing & misleading signboard. The writing in Chinese means Koay Teow Th'ng (dried) or Koay Teow Soup (dried). Does this mean this is the Koay Teow Soup without soup?

We spotted a hungry doggy. So white and so obedience, just like Liucas ;)

And not forgetting the Sotong Stall.. Err, I mean the Sotong Kangkung Stall.

My dinner for the night -> the mouth watering Sotong Kangkung + Jellyfish.

Spectacles

I know most people prefer to wear contact lens or have LASIK (Laser Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) done. But... there are still some who still opt to wear glasses, like yours truly. Most of my short-sighted or myopic doctor colleagues (I will say >95%) still wear spectacles. Our great surgeon, Bernard also wears glasses.

Spectacles also act as the protective gear for our eyes against the blood or any other form of body fluid from patients, especially for surgeons or those who do procedures. It is not a pleasant experience to have blood or body fluid, secretions or discharge to accidentally splash or spurt onto the face, moreover into the eyes !! Wearing that pair of eye goggles is not practical and just too troublesome, unless the patient is known to be Hepatitis or HIV positive.

Remembering the days when my face was splashed with the gush of amniotic fluid aka liqor when the amniotic membrane was nicked during Caesarean Section for a patient with polyhydramnios (excessive liquor) and macrosomia (big baby) - free facial :( Luckily I had my spectacles on. And not forgetting the spurting of blood occasionally when the blood vessel or artery was nicked, and the worst one is vomitus (*&%$#@ yucks !!) I wore contact lens too in the past (during my undergraduate time) but I find it a bit troublesome. Meticulous and needs to be handled with care.

I know most of you here wear contact lens but I will still say YES to glasses.
Pssss... last but not least, don't you think those who wear glasses looks more intelligent? LOL

Flying Cockroach

Yesterday night, I saw one sikui kah chuak (the RIP cockroach mia relative) flying around in my room. Gosh !! I then saw the cockroach landed on the wall in front of me and climbed up to the ceilings within seconds. Then, the sibeh hiao cockroach started flying again nearby the fluorescent lamp!! What I worried was the flying cockroach might landed on my head !! (I had experienced baby lizard landing on my head before liao.. Tat stupid baby lizard lost balance while walking on the ceiling & drop right on my head !! Cis...) No, no.. I won't let that tragedy or disaster happened. That was way too disgusting & very geli. There was no way for me to piak the cockroach with newspaper or slipper nor spray with insecticide cos the bugger is too far up the ceiling.

How to avoid the cockroach from landing on my head? The easiest solution is... WEAR A CAP !! Hahaha, clever or not? That was what I did last night, wearing my black adidas cap (with full alert mode on) and peeping at every single movement of the cockroach :P And these are some of the responses I get from few great people when I talked to them yesterday night.

Kenny : Later the kah chuak will fall on your head. (sikui Kenny, so bad mouth geh? :P)
Ah Ben: Chen buka mulut, then kokolotch masuk mulut. (Ini Ah Ben lagi teruk, u think this is Fear Factor meh? Choy Choy Choy!!)
Chen : I'm wearing a cap now. Dowan it to land on my hair.
Angel: ROTFL. U not sked land on yr face meh?? or yr body?? yerrrrrrrr (My main concern is my head mah.. I'm not so concerned if it landed on other parts of my body :P *Touch Wood*)
Nyonya : You stay so high up, the cockroach also know how to reach you ar? errr... must have used the lift kua. (Kkkkkkkk... nyonya indeed geng, can come up with such idea!)

p/s : The Malaysian gals won The Amazing Race Asia (TARA) yesterday night. The finale was held in Kuching, Sarawak. Wahhhh.. when I saw the teams flying to Kuching, my immediate response was to sms Pink Cotton & Ah Ben to watch the show !! Kkkkkk... The familiar cats statues in Kuching, the old courthouse, the Sarawak Cultural Village and the final pit stop at Bako National Park.. Congratulations to Tee Joe Jer & Zabrina Fernandez for emerging as champions in The First Amazing Race Asia. Well done, girls. I love their happy-go-lucky, sporting, modest, friendship and never give up attitude.
